This is a superb gateway to the wine country of the North Fork. Excellent comment by Joe regarding downwind landings at Mattituck. I have personally seen a single engine carcass on the field that ran off the end of Runway 01. I frequently land over the trees here (Rwy 19) and am quite comfortable with this approach, but a low-time pilot or those not comfortable with a slip should use extra caution here. As for transient parking, please be advised that the spots on the pavement appear to be spoken for by local pilots who pay a monthly tie down fee. Although these spots are unmarked, courtesy dictates that you should park on the grass. Fuel is offered, but don't expect other FBO services you are accustomed to. This is the office of Teledyne Mattituck Services, home of Mattituck engine overhauls. The office is closed on the weekends.

Nice people, extremely hard to find for those meeting you at the airport. There is a sign on New Suffolk Avenue that says "Teledyne Mattituck Services" just for those of you who have never been there.
