Nice little airport. Yes the last 1000 is "rough" but not potholed or cracked. Paul the owner is very helpful and fuel is self serve, easy and as inexpensive as any airport around. Nice little ramp for overnight parking. No tie downs so if you need them, bring them. Great location to explore central New England if you are operating VFR.

I have stopped in at Moultonboro twice in the past two weeks, and the runway is fine even for my "low wheel pants" RV-8. Service is friendly, and the fuel is a bargain. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

I flew into Moultonboro despite what some pilots said about the runway surface. I have a fixed gear Cardinal, and I land on some rough "grass" surfaces; this was worse. From a distance the surface looks great, but it is deceptive; all it is a layer of tar over rough gravel. The fees are reasonable--$10/day to park or a week for $25.

Been 10 years since I was here and it seems the runway surface is now lots rougher, rough enough I won't be back, at least in a Mooney. A shame as it's a nice little airport with good fuel prices. Mind the trees on rwy 2 departure.

Very nice FBO. Paul, the owner, is helpful and friendly. There is a nice local culture around the airport - a regular bunch of guys who hang out and work on the airport. Took lessons with Howard (CFI) at Moultonboro over the summer, and learned a lot.
