From John Cornett on 16-Jan-2008
I stopped here on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 2 PM. The place was unattended and there was no 100LL fuel. Avoid this place if you can. Stop at KCDH instead.

Response from James H. Smith, Airport Manager, H.L. Hopkins-Fordyce Municipal Airport
Yes, our airport is unattended, however we most certainly have 100LL available accessed by credit card. The pump is located within a newly erected open-ended covered structure. We are in the process of placing "100LL AvGas" on the side of this structure. Perhaps Mr. Cornett just didn't see our pump. We are sorry for his inconvenience.

Field was open, with very convenient access to restrooms, and fuel pump. Unfortunately, the fuel pump terminal had lost connection, and it wasn't possible to purchase fuel; but the field manager said this problem doesn't occur very often.

From Mark Blackmon on 02-Aug-2006
I talked to the chairman of the airport committee today. He confirms that the airport is closed until the end of September 2006 due to a widening of the runway and other improvements.

From Mike Kiester on 20-Jun-2006
Field is closed until Oct 2006.

From George W. Dixon on 08-Jun-2006
Fordyce is a Spartan unmanned field with 24hour credit card access. There is no ladder for high wing feelers; bathrooms are out of order, and no computer access.
