I flew in here in October 2008. The airport was deserted. The runway and taxiway look rough from the air but they are actually in good shape with lots of cracks repaired with tar. There are no potholes or loose asphalt. There are trees on both ends right at the runway thresholds. The ones on approach to runway 9 are 20-30 feet and the ones on approach to 27 are about 12 feet so runway 27 is preferred for landing all other things being equal. The building was under repair when I was there and there are no services although the woods is everywhere for essential needs. The surrounding area is gorgeous and very mountainous. I would not be comfortable flying into this airport at night unless I was very familiar with the geography and the trees.

I flew into Twin Mountain a few years ago from Piseco, and while on my way to a holiday on the Vineyard. I called Evan a few days before I left for some beta on the area. He was great. When we landed we got the royal treatment. Evan even drove me over to the firehouse for a pancake breakfast before we left. I was a bit worried about the trees on the West departure, but we made it out fine. (Those trees are worth thinking about, though). The airport is on the shoulder of Mt. Washington; so don't even think about it in marginal visibility conditions. Otherwise, Twin Mountain is a great place to access the Mt. Washington area.
