May 5, 2008 - Still no fuel

NO GAS AT THIS FIELD until they get their pump fixed. I topped off 100LL on 23 Apr @ $3.93, but when I stopped in today, there was a note on the pump, "Out of Order until new pump can indicated over $4 per gallon, sorry." Too bad, it's a great little field and had super-cheap gas just a week ago.... :(

Well we made the trip, and had the pleasure of landing on 33 and departing on 15. What an experience! 100LL is still at $3.93 also, can't beat that.

Anyone know how I can get some more information about Dahlonega? Tried calling the airport's phone # listed but no luck yet. I'm looking to fly in this Friday (4/18) for the weekend and just wanted to be sure tie-downs as well as fuel are available. Looking forward to an exciting approach and departure judging from these other comments!

It’s really hard to see this airport from the sky, blends in very well with the surrounding hills. Be careful taking off!

Please know you aircrafts performance before landing here. We have 3000 feet of runway, but note there are mountains both ends and to the sides of runway!! I am based here and many heavy loaded planes have had difficulty. Fly Safe

Flying into DA-Lo-Nega was a wonderful experience. The family there is very open warm and friendly. It really is what GA is all about. Sitting around in comfy chairs telling old stories and helping a neighbor out. I would recommend to anyone in the North Georgia Mountains to stop in and enjoy the area. Be aware though.... The runway is an interesting one to fly into!

Call ahead if you can. Out of gas as of 6/15/06.

Have not landed here for fuel in a few years, but wanted to get their fuel now as they are one of the lowest in the state. Yes...100LL for $3.34 including tax. LZU-Gwinnett County is almost $2.00 more!! Nice airport in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Excellent airport to hone your skills on slower flight with a steeper approach on RWY 33. I heard the original owner use to land at this field (which was his private airport) at night using autos to illuminate the area. And he landed on grass...It is paved now. You need to check this out...He had to have been a v-e-r-y skilled pilot. Enjoy the area - it's very scenic!

This airport has high terrain just NW and smaller hills all around.... Check out approach angle on notes and be alert! It is beautiful and has self service, economical 100LL.

Very interesting approach to Rwy 15. I love to fly that valley for one of my students. Bring it over the trees and do an actual short field approach. Be careful, the wind is somewhat tricky.

From Garry Cummings on 13-Dec-2005
Please cut the trees at the end of 15. VERY DANGEROUS DEPARTING TO THE SOUTH.

From Greg Gillis on 01-Dec-2005
Flew up from Winder today to get some fuel at $3.18 a gal. Alot cheaper than Winder, I did a left hand downwind to 33, seemed a little close to the trees on the mtn top at the end of 33 but had fun getting in. Loved the airport will be back. Kinda felt like a crop duster!

Fuel system was repaired on Nov.25.

From Charles Belcher on 19-Nov-2005
Stopped for fuel on 11/19/2005 and there was a sign on the pump that read "NO FUEL". Not good.
