Landed there after Oshkosh 2008. Outstanding fuel stop. Cheap gas, great grass, and friendly folks. It doesn't get any better than this.

Unbelievably great. The lowest fuel price in the area (one of the lowest in the whole state), has everything you need, and when we left, Don Bailey even gave my flight instructor and me a bag full with sweet corn he cut out from his field for us (the rwy is completely surrounded by a corn field). This will probably become a regular fuel stop for me in the future.

Made an emergency stop at Lowell today (bathroom break). Landing on grass was fun. Don is wonderful. Since we were there, I decided to get fuel. They don't do enough business to be able to take credit cards, but Don said I could just mail him a check! I may start stopping there just for fuel and to visit. He says in couple weeks the sweetcorn will be ready.

I would go out of my way to stop here, and I don't even bother to ask about fuel prices because I know it will be fair. Don Bailey (Owner/Mgr) is as good a man as you'll ever meet. And if you love landing in grass as much as I do -- you'll have trouble finding a nicer runaway to land on. I've only gassed up here three times, but I feel a real kinship with Don. In my world, it just doesn't get any better than C97!
