Some airports may be prettier, or have more gadgets or newer facilities but when it comes to down-home friendliness, D68 sets the bar. Thank you Emilio for the laid-back atmosphere we found, and the use of the car, and thank you Kimberly for befriending my passenger. You just made a new pilot.

Fuel priced as advertised...Unicom told us that the fuel truck was inop and just pull up to the pumps. After fueling, Bill went and got the gift from DHS...A six-wheel Polaris ATV...And towed us to a parking spot. Took the courtesy car into town...its exactly 1.6 miles from the airport so easily walkable if you want. B'fast at Safire's...Good food. This is a very friendly place and worth stopping...Even if just for fuel.

Fuel prices were very good and I can't say enough about Emilio and his devotion to running the airport.

We took our Lear 35 into Springerville today. Emilio was waiting on us when we arrived with our passengers' car planeside. Fuel price was good for that side of the country. We went to the Java Blue (or whatever it was) and the food was great. Ask Emilio, he'll tell you where to go. Thanks again for the service; see you in a few weeks.

We met Emilio on our way back from Cancun, Mexico on the airline ride home. All he could talk about was this airport and how much he loves aviation. Someday my husband and I want to come back to AZ and make sure we rent a plane and fly to Springerville Airport!

It was great to learn of a courtesy car available on a recent visit. That makes D68 a great stop for breakfast.

This is how airports used to be (should be). Great people, smart staff and a nice clean building. Arrived for an overnight and they gave me the "Caprice Classic" (ex cop-cruiser) for the night free of charge. NOTAM: Watch your speed in the Caprice Classic. Get the nose down on that thing coming down hill and she picks up speed right now! Thanks again, hope to be back soon.

Like others on the site, we were very impressed by Emilio's customer service. However, we do need to note that the price guaranteed on AirNav does NOT include taxes and a fee. We had stopped at St. Johns on the way, but had chosen Springerville on the way back because at the time we were passing through, Springerville was lower. However, with the taxes and the fee, the price turned out to be higher than St. Johns. As much as we liked Emilio, next time through, we'll pick the airport that discloses the entire price.

Fueled at Springerville this morning around 0700am. Emilio about had the airplane tied down before I got out of it for a Cup of Coffee. I guess his refueling truck broke down so he gladly towed it to the main pump and back. Excellent service no matter how you cut it. Nice FBO and great fuel prices. It was 4.50/gal and he was just figuring out how much his latest tanker load cost him. The next customer would have had to pay $5.10 which is still one of the lowest prices in Arizona!! I'll be back again!!!

Thanks to Emilio Orona, this the kind of place that makes you love small town airports. Flew in from FFZ 04/05. Just after calling in, Emilio was on the Unicom giving me a wind update. I landed and he directed to fuel, fueled me up (good gas prices), tied down the airplane for me, helped me with my gear and drove me to FBO. Nice clean facility. He got me a courtesy car for overnight, recommended Java Blues for lunch (good food) and a hotel. Next morning he had coffee ready. Took me out to the aircraft, help me load up and untie. I couldn't get FSS on the radio to activate my flight plan. A quick call to Emilio on the Unicom and I was good to go. This is a fun stop for a day or overnight. Note D68 now has AWOS 119.65. Thanks Emilio, keep the coffee on, I'll be back.

I have been using this airport regularly as a quick means of getting to Greer and the Sunrise ski area. The service and the cost of fuel are very favorable. The new airport manager, Emilio, is as good as they get. This airport is a gem and a real asset to the communities of Springerville, Eagar, and Greer. Huge improvement over the other choices in the area. Thanks.

Great stop w/friendly and helpful staff! Emilio stayed late to give me fuel on New Years Eve and personally guided me to a nice little Mexican Restaurant for supper on his way home.

You've GOT to visit this airport to experience the top-notch customer service of Emilio, the brand new (one month ago) airport manager. This is the closest airport to the Sunrise Ski area, closer than landing in Show Low. They want GA business. Fuel is reasonable. Courtesy car available, call ahead! Use it to get to the ski area and back for the day. Avoids needing a rental car or hotel! Don't forget to buy them some gas! They preheat your aircraft engine for 10 bucks on icy cold winter days. Emilio went above and beyond with great customer service, even stayed after quitting time to greet our arrival. Motels in Springerville have better availability in ski season that Show Low or Pinetop/Lakeside. Stay at the Rode Inn in Springerville (they pick you up and feed you breakfast). Nice people, very accommodating for pilots.
