I had to wait out some weather to the south on my return from Oshkosh. The crew car was not available, but Brian threw some burgers on the grill and cooked a much-needed lunch for me. Thank you Brian!! Your help was much appreciated!

We landed to refuel on the way to Memphis ($2.74/gal!!!) and were forced to stay overnight due to a slight mechanical problem. Even though it was around 11pm, Nathan, the airport manager, loaned us his car, arranged a hotel room for us and had a mechanic out there in the morning, on a Saturday, to help get us on our way. The plane was up and running within an hour but weather had moved in at our destination. Thanks to concierge type suggestions by Nathan and the rest of the staff at I39 we decided to stay another night and had a great time. I have now added Richmond, Kentucky to my list of places to return. These guy know how to treat transient pilots, I wish other operators were more like this crew. Basically, they 'get it'. Thanks again Nathan!!!!!

Looking for a place to escape threatening weather approaching central Kentucky on 13 April, we called several fields looking for some hangar space. Most weren't very friendly to say the least -- until we called I39. Matthew answered the radio and although he didn't think they had hangar space, the weather forced our hand. Upon landing Matthew met us at the "self serve" pumps, introduced himself, told us he found hangar space, and assisted our refuel at $2.74/gallon!! Once in the hangar Nathan met us and provided local options for lodging. Tim took us in his personal vehicle to the Richmond Hampton Inn. The thunderstorms began as we hit the hotel. These guys rock and are serious about taking good care of visitors. Nathan even refused payment for the hangar not wanting to "take advantage of our weather divert situation". That's what I call service. Thanks guys!

Visited Madison during the RV Roundup and was met by Nathan, the airport manager. We all felt very welcome and he let us use his personal car to go to the local restaurant. Very nice experience and will be back. Thanks Nathan!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good gas prices and the Air 51 manager, Nathan, and team are anxious to please. I was a refueling stop only and did self serve for the best price. It is the best price in the area and I had help with the refueling. I'll be back.

I read all of the prior comments on this listing and must say that the opposite happened to me when I stopped here recently. No one greeted us and when we did walk in the FBO we were totally ignored until we made the first move to open up dialogue. They were three young men and customer service was not on there agenda. A courtesy car was not offered however one of the young men did give me a ride when I asked for a lift. I have stopped at much better and much more customer oriented FBO's.

We were on our way to Williamsburg, KY (W38) to visit my wife's uncle. (79 yrs. old) The weather got bad to the north of KLOZ so we needed a place to wait it out. We landed and before we could get out, a worker came out a chalked our a/c then asked if we needed gas. We walked over to the hangar and met Nathan Hoskins, we told him our problem. He put on a pot of coffee, told us to make ourselves at home. Then checked and watched the weather for us. Even offered to loan us a car. After 2 hours he thought it was OK to continue, so we thanked him and he asked us to call him upon arrival at W38. I have changed my GPS from KLOZ to I39 for the next trip down. Thank You Very Much.

Nice airport. Attendant came out to help me with SS fuel, before I had my credit card out of my wallet. They seem to be trying to build GA business here, which is "refreshing".

From Rusty MacSwords on 19-Apr-2008
Our new FBO is outstanding, friendly and genuinely interested in service. It is a joy to "bum" around at the airport. We even get in a little flying if the stories don't get to deep!! Thanks Nathan.

I stopped today because the airport was close a dealer that I wanted to do business with. The folks at the airport were outstanding hosts. They were having a cook out, invited me to stay and eat with them, offered to loan me a car, and just couldn't be more helpful. I honestly don't know if they offer the cheapest gas in the area, but I will always make a point of stopping there on any future cross country flights.

Spectrum has added a nice lounging area for pilots. A new Plasma screen TV with a Dish Network hookup is now available and some very, very comfortable lounging chairs make your stay very pleasant. It's very nice. But the biggest for me is DSL Internet for filing flight plans and obtaining weather briefs, and AWOS services on 119.625, activated on 10/25/07. We invite you to stop in for some first class treatment!

From George Wyatt on 28-Sep-2007
Spectrum Aviation and Nathan Hoskins have been enthusiastic and professional in their approach since becoming the new FBO at I39. They have gone beyond what has been expected to give exceptional quality customer service to both recreational and corporate clients. They now have two courtesy cars for your use when you arrive. You will be treated to a cold bottle of water and a soft couch in front of the TV on the inside. I invite you to come on by and use the courtesy car to go to PapaLeno's for some home made bread and pasta. Stop by the Kentucky Artisan's Center for a gift for that special someone. Return to find your plane serviced and ready for your departure. It makes for a quick and pleasant stop.

I have family nearby and have visited this airport often. I immediately knew upon landing that new management was in place. My wife and I were met plane side with enthusiasm and an offer of refreshment. This FBO defines good service. Make it a stop.

From Ahmed Reza on 28-Aug-2007
Spectrum was FANTASTIC!! We arrived well after closing, Nathan awaited our arrival, had our rental car ready, and greeted us with the car plane-side, and with chilled bottles of water. This is service at it's finest! I'm always concerned to ensure the FBO I visit is reliable and easy to use--Spectrum is fantastic. No need for further-away KLEX when traveling to Richmond. Bravo Spectrum!

From Bruce Layne on 26-Aug-2007
I've had a plane hangared at I39 for about ten years. I met Nathan and the crew of Spectrum Aviation today when they spoke to our EAA chapter and was very impressed. They're bringing a lot of new and very good ideas and energy to the airport, and their focus on customer service is second to none. There's a new emphasis on general aviation, with probably the lowest self serve avgas prices in the area and very clean fuel. The FBO is rapidly undergoing renovation and there is a lot left to be done, but it's definitely going in the right direction and will be finished soon. It'll be a first class airport for corporate aircraft and transient small planes alike, with a courtesy car, wireless Internet, and all the amenities! I'm sure they'll make you feel comfortable and absolutely treat you right!

From Mark Farris on 16-Aug-2007
Richmond Madison County is under new management. Things are drastically improving there. Everyday it gets better. Nathan, the new manager, is working hard to make it a first class facility and progress is being made daily. Stop by. You'll be glad you did. I just moved here form Virginia Beach Virginia and the service I get here is second to none!
