The Brookville Airpark (I62) is a non-subsidized public airport. The runway is a bit rough and sure it's narrow, but the fuel prices are cheap and if you want a newly paved 5000 X 100 foot runway you should go elsewhere. I've landed here many times and have had no problems because it isn't as bad as the complaints state, not to mention that the owners are fantastic with good hangar rent, cheap fuel and a helping hand if you need it. It's so typical that people fly into here and complain about things, but let's face the facts, if they were so pleased with the prices at the larger subsidized "reliever" airports then they wouldn't land here in the first place. By the way, I've only had to re-swipe my credit card once or twice. The phone lines out here are a pain and until Verizon ponies up the improvements, there will be issues to deal with like connecting to a fuel service...... Happy Holidays and Pleasant Flights.

I take issue with the post from Jeff Schnabel on October 04 2007. I have been based at Brookville for over 12 years. I own and fly a 172 and a Beech 95 (twin) in and out of this airport and its runway with NO problem. This airport is privately owned and receives no government funding. That being said it cannot be compared to airports that are. Speaking for myself this place is comparable to any other privately owned airport that I have flown into. The owners are friendly and courteous and should be treated in kind. If you want the best fuel price in the area stop here. Verizon owns the phone line that connects the credit card system and noise on the line can sometimes cause an error with the credit card fuel system. Be patient, it does work.

If you are looking for the roughest runway in the tristate area, you found it. WOW !!! I considered landing on the road or the taxiway since they are in great condition compared to the runway. Self-serve pump requires about 5 tries to get your credit card to work. At least that’s what they told me when I struggled to get fuel.

This was my first stop here. I62 is about 2 miles from my parent's house. The runway is not as bad as what you read in some places. Landed in a C-182 with no problems. If you are going to tie down, bring your own tie downs and you have to search to find the anchors (we only found ones in the grass). I talked to them on the phone when planning the trip and they said they sweep the runway a couple times a week. Extremely nice people! Definitely the cheapest fuel around and the pump worked fine. I will be back!

I enjoyed my stop at Brookville, but would like to share my thoughts. First the Runway was not well marked so I studied the pavement layout. I saw the East-West Runway but thought there might also be a North-South (Note, there is only an East-West). The other is the taxiway to the pump. The taxiway crosses a road and passes a parking lot. There was no problem with clearance just take it slow and easy. Pump worked fine, rate of flow also was fine.
