I spent several days in Anniston. Anniston Aviation is clean and functional. Rodney Findley and Scott Wallace went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out with things like finding a local bank etc. Highly Recommend. Thanks.

It is worth noting that I stopped in Anniston today and had a bad experience with a local pilot. Government charts list the CTAF/Unicom freq as 123.0. I broadcasted my position as I approached the airport, overhead, downwind, base, final, etc. On 123.0. Shortly after I landed, a local pilot approached me and chewed me out for not using my radio to announce my positions or arrival. He told me that because of my neglect, he nearly taxied onto the runway while I was on final approach. I was dumbfounded. As it turns out, the CTAF was recently changed from 123.6 to 123.0, but the locals refuse to make the change because they have used 123.6 for many years. So, transients beware and monitor both freqs. Until the locals decide to change, you need to make your announcements on both. (Of course, I was wrong because I didn't know the "local" procedure.) Other than that, Anniston is a nice stop. The FBO people are efficient and friendly. Fuel price is average.
