I spent several days in Anniston. Anniston Aviation is clean and functional. Rodney Findley and Scott Wallace went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out with things like finding a local bank etc. Highly Recommend. Thanks.

It is worth noting that I stopped in Anniston today and had a bad experience with a local pilot. Government charts list the CTAF/Unicom freq as 123.0. I broadcasted my position as I approached the airport, overhead, downwind, base, final, etc. On 123.0. Shortly after I landed, a local pilot approached me and chewed me out for not using my radio to announce my positions or arrival. He told me that because of my neglect, he nearly taxied onto the runway while I was on final approach. I was dumbfounded. As it turns out, the CTAF was recently changed from 123.6 to 123.0, but the locals refuse to make the change because they have used 123.6 for many years. So, transients beware and monitor both freqs. Until the locals decide to change, you need to make your announcements on both. (Of course, I was wrong because I didn't know the "local" procedure.) Other than that, Anniston is a nice stop. The FBO people are efficient and friendly. Fuel price is average.

Can't say enough how ecstatic I am that the former owner/manager left! Anytime you have an owner/manager who consistently refers to himself as "just an employee of the company", you know you're dealing with someone who will never shoulder any blame for bad business/service. ANB had a terrible reputation and was easily by far the very WORST FBO I'd ever dealt with when it came to airplane rentals - & I've rented from no less than 8 FBOs. The list of complaints & problems is far, far too large to even start listing. I went to ASN, GAD, & PLR to rent because of the TERRIBLE management - even though ANB is only 5 minutes from my house! But the new management is MUCH nicer & easier to deal with. I'm gonna start renting here again on a regular basis. They have an IFR C-172 and a VFR Cherokee Warrior - and I hear they have plans to expand the fleet further. Joe (new manager) is doing an awesome job! Fuel prices have even gone down! ANB is a good FBO again - thanks, Joe!

Nice FBO; friendly efficient service. But the real attraction is walking to the AFSS next door and getting a face-to-face briefing. The AFSS also makes it easy to pick up a clearance on the way out.

Flew in on 11 June and was met right away by lineman. Stayed a few days.

I had to divert to Anniston due to weather about 20 minutes prior to their normal closing time. After moving my Bell 206 to their requested refueling spot and landing, I was met by Joe, one of their co-owners. He stood there in a steady rain and held an umbrella over the aircraft as I climbed out. Afterwards, he provided above and beyond assistance. I needed and received only 24 gallons of Jet A, which cost $4.09/gal, very competitive with other FBOs I'd visited. Also, there was no additional ramp fee. As the weather further deteriorated and I had to go downtown for the night Joe lined me up with a very nice local motel and drove me there himself. Where I come from, this was exceptional treatment. I'm not sure why others have had problems here in the past, but apparently the new management is changing things for the better. I'll return to Anniston anytime as long as this team is in place.

I have never been to an airport where the staff was so quick to request my credit card! There is a ten dollar ramp fee even if you are only staying for a couple hours. This was waived with a fuel purchase however the fuel price was quite high. (even when compared to the Atlanta area) I try not to go to this airport if I can help it.

Stopped for fuel and then had to stay for WX. Scott the line guy was quite pleasant, but 100LL was no bargain at $4.27. Then had to pay $10 for o-nite tiedown after buying about as much fuel you can get into a 172. Folks, you're in Anniston, not Orlando-lose the tiedown fee w/fuel purchase. We won't be back.
