I have flown to Lee several times over the past few years, and always found everyone friendly and helpful. I just hope the field stays open and does not close like too many others do.

The approach to runway 12 at night can be challenging if you are not familiar with the airport. There are 80-foot tall trees approximately 80 feet north of the runway centerline (to your left on approach), approximately 550 feet from the end of the runway and approximately 1000 feet from the displaced threshold (these are documented in the AFD). In addition, there are somewhat lower trees along the centerline and approximately 1500 feet from the approach end. Stay on the centerline and stay on the visual slope indicator and you will not have a problem. A new PAPI system should be installed soon.

There's not a real FBO onsite, so you're on your own when you land if the maintenance shop isn't open. If it is, they will do whatever they can to help you out. Larry and Larry (father and son) own and run the shop, and they are both first class all the way. The airport is really convenient to downtown Annapolis, which is a great day trip if you're in the area.

Great Folks at Chesapeake! Just a short cab ride to downtown historic Annapolis.
