Stopped at AOO and Penn Air on a flight from Cincinnati, Oh to Montgomery, NY. The gentlemen on the line greeting me and guided me to parking in front of the new Penn Air FBO facility. They loaned me a funnel to add a quart of oil. They were extremely courteous and attentive and gave quick service and directions to the Kitty Hawk restaurant. Their price for my 30.0 gallons of fuel came out to almost exactly the listed price here = $4.51/gal. Both the restaurant and the FBO were very clean. The weather computer is slow and it takes a long time to get data from DUATS. Don't know if they have hi-speed Internet access. All in all a very pleasant and efficient stop.

Read your fuel price, $5.30/gal, confirmed by phone. Looked at my bill after I got home to discover that the full cost, including over $6.00 FET and $2.00 misc tax, was $5.57/gal. Not quite the $5.30 advertised. Other than that the service and facility are excellent.

Stopped in to AOO and Penn-Air 06-16-08 unplanned due to severe weather ahead. Glad to see the service has remained as good as our last visit. We were met at the plane, refueled and offered a hangar due to the weather. Penn-Airs facility was comfortable and well suited to sitting out the weather. With the Kitty Hawk restaurant next-door, rental vehicles and airline service all at this small airport with multiple runways, it is a good place to run to in bad weather and one of the better I can think of to be stuck at if I have to be stuck anyplace. Keep up the good work Penn-Air.

Arrived at Penn Air for fuel and a quick dinner at the Kitty Hawk. Penn Air has moved from its old location and is now at the far South end of the ramp just past the FSS. No sign on the building. Penn Airs facility is well designed inside with attractive, comfortable lounge areas and a nice planning area. We were flying a SkyHawk and took on 21 gallons of fuel. Our fuel order was taken as soon as we stepped out of the plane and a helpful lineman fueled us quickly and correctly. Fuel was priced as advertised on AirNav. While I did read in the office of a $25 fee for a single engine, waived with the purchase of 40 gallons of fuel, I was not charged a fee nor was it brought up. Based on others comments here, this seems to be a point of confusion that perhaps Penn Air needs to clear up so we all know what to expect should we stop here. Overall a pleasant experience, but check on that fee first.

Visited Penn-Air on Sunday we were greeted by line service, left fuel order and went to the restaurant and FSS. 100LL was reasonable at $3.61/gal. Service was courteous. No landing or ramp fees. Airplane was ready to go when we returned. We had a positive experience.

I flew today to Altoona to have coffee with my wife. When I landed they wanted me to park in front of their new terminal. Since this was a change in what I had done before, I asked " Is there a charge for parking now", was told no since I was going to the restaurant. Came back thirty minuets later and $25 for a Ramp/Facilities fee?? Altoona? It’s nice but it's not Hawthorn-Page at some big city either. I would suggest to the Flying public to go someplace else if you’re passing by this place. My opinion is their not up front with you and your be better served if you do! Not a happy camper Jeffpa30

Very nice NEW FBO facility. Very nice line and office people. Rented hangar from airport manager for extended stay. Penn-Air moved it in/out. Gas is still high, but service is quite good!! I'll be back.
