Stopped in KARA on 07/29/2009 on our way from KMLB to KUTS due to much stronger headwinds than forecast. The FBO folks could not have been nicer and promptly refilled our plane. Only improvement I could think of would be a printer on the flight computer. N17386.

What an awesome FBO! We encountered big headwinds between KPFN & KEFD and chose to refuel and layover in KARA. What a great surprise to find this FBO. Several jets were on the tarmac including a NASA T-38. Inside we find cheap 100LL and $2.00 seafood buffet offered by the FBO. My 2 year old loved the shrimp and bread, my mom enjoyed the catfish, and I liked the etouffee and great service! So rare to find focused and professional FBOs anymore and get treated nice whether you fly a Cessna single or a Gulfstream. Thank you!!!

Flew in to Acadiana Reg from San Diego, CA in a C-177RG N217AF for parent’s 50th anniversary. Years ago got my first complex checkout and Private SES certificate right there through Pelican, and some time after also brought a Navy jet there for an air show. They still had all the same great Southern hospitality I remembered! For a fuel fill and a nominal $2pp donation, myself and all the family who came out to meet me made a meal out of some great samples of Cajun food, soft drinks, and BR ice cream, served with a smile by the friendly young lady behind the counter! There was a nice, clean seating area, several crew lounges fully stocked with local hot sauce, and a well equipped planning room. Left the aircraft tied down securely on the ramp for 12 days with no problems or concerns, and a lineman was standing by ready to help once I was ready to depart. This a great place to stop, and the surrounding area is full of history and warm, colorful culture. Highly recommend!!

I recently flew my Long Z from Miami to Santa Barbara and stopped at Pelican to check out an oil leak on a Saturday. They were extremely helpful and even gave me ride to town for parts. Great people!!

Horrible service, most times are bad but this one was worse. We asked if there was a crew car, were told yes but after we bought 100 gallons we were told we couldn't use it. This is one FBO that you should avoid if possible. They don't care about anyone but the military.
