Excellent, friendly service at a busy little airport.

Super destination any season of the year. Beautiful greenway walking trails start just outside of the airport perimeter. Rolling hills, ocean vistas, and lush meadows all can be enjoyed a few minutes from your tie down spot. Tom and his crew have always gone out of their way to accommodate pilots with directions to attractions, walking maps, places to eat, and local events. It can be busy so keep your eyes open and make your radio calls on approach and departure. Also remember to check out the great pictures behind the terminal's counter. No gas here but Landmark also runs Newport RI airport UUU (a few minutes flight) w/ fuel at $4.60 as of 2-08. A terrific spot for a stop, one of my favorites.

The customer service here was as friendly as it gets. And professional, too. No landing fee. But the traffic was quite busy for a winter weekend. No tower. One errant pilot entered the pattern unannounced. So prepare to be on your toes in the traffic area. But the warm greeting you get when you land is worth everything.

Stopped in for breakfast the morning after the Pats win over Jacksonville. Great way to cap of a fantastic weekend. Get to this classic aviation diner before they tear it down and put up the new terminal. There is also no fuel on the island.

I am a student at Daniel Webster College, and I was doing a flight for my X-C practicum to KBID. Upon landing the airport manager was in a yellow truck giving me directions for parking. I have never received such service from any airport. After parking to get out to stretch my legs for a bit I had a chance to converse with some of the staff at the airport. They were friendly and courteous. I even got a chance to check out the New England Airlines Islander! I was very pleased with the service I received and recommend any pilot that has a chance to fly there to take it!

This place, both Landmark Av and Block Island are top notch. Parking is tight, but I've got a personal escort to a spot every time I've arrived, guy on a golf cart calls out to you on the CTAF before you've even left the active. Be alert this is one of the busier non-tower airports out there and it can be a beehive. Advisories from PVD approach will get you 5-10 nm away, but you've really got to keep your eyes peeled and alert on the CTAF on busy days... Great spot!

I have been flying to Block for over 10 years, and the folks at Landmark are top notch. We put a car there this year and have had the good fortune to use it quite a bit. Every time we fly in, the crew is more than helpful and courteous. Keep up the good work!

Awesome airport, great friendly staff and the little diner is a perfect reason to land at Block, just remember to listen to the parking instructions on 122.85, if you park correctly you may not have to pay any landing fees!!!

We rented bikes from Block Island Bike and Car Rental. They only charged $10 per bike for the afternoon. Nothing fancy, but they worked fine. Really a scenic place to ride. We saw a couple of interesting scooter incidents and had a great seafood lunch and flew home.

We frequent BID year round and are happy to see much need improvements. New signage, taxiway and paved areas. Parking is down from 100+ spots to 50 so plan early arrival. $10 landing fee for the day unless you frequent Bethany's and are there for less then an hour.

This is an awesome place to fly in for lunch. The restaurant is a bit small but the FBO here makes it worth dropping in for. These are some great guys that very user friendly. If you are a pilot from a Landmark FBO, there is no landing fee. THERE IS NO GAS HERE so don't come in on fumes thinking you have planned your flight just right - you'll be in for a shocker. They just resurfaced the runway and the taxiways are very clean. Definitely within walking distance to town. Great place.

First flight there was on 9/10/06. Very nice and friendly people at the FBO. While there is no fuel on the Island, the people make all the difference. We were given a map and told all about the Island etc. FBO personnel met us in the taxiway to lead us back to a parking spot. Great Island for a visit. Want to spend more time next flight over.

A very nice place to go for a $100 hamburger. This was my first time there. The Island looks and feels much like Bermuda. Will have to make the walk into town next time.

Block Island is worth the flight if you're into scenic places for walking or bicycling. I rented a bike in town ($10) and rode the entire island in just over two hours. Airport into town is walkable (part of the route can be along a pretty little hiking path called a greenway), and for my $10 landing fee I got directions and a map and a suggestion for a lunch spot. Decent chowder at the Mohegan.

I go here a lot. $10 landing fee and NO services - outside pay phone for FSS (and a sign telling you to take your cell phone outside) - NO pilots briefing area - NO DUATS or computer briefing equipment - NO fuel. It's a short walk to town all downhill so I recommend walking to town then taking a cab back up.

Went on a beautiful flight in my FBO's C172M and flew to Block Island for the day. Very nice approach to 28 over Old Harbor and a good view of the island. Landed and since it was a busy day and I had two Cheetah's and a Centurion behind me I was told to follow the truck to the grass parking since everything else was packed. After shutdown paid my $10 and got a $7 cab ride into town. I think it was well worth it considering BI is an absolutely stunning place. I know that I am going back for sure. Highly recommend flying in.

Arrived BID on Sat. July 23/2005 in Cherokee. Landing fee is $10.00. No tie down ropes provided. Truck led us to grass, tie-down hooks embedded in muck, bring a towel. No fuel sold. Taxi fare to downtown was $9.00 for 4 people. Nice folks, friendly place.
