I got my ATPL from ATP in Trenton. Took 2 weeks (twas middle of winter), but passed it on my first checkride. There were 4 of us foreigners in my class and we were treated the same as the locals..No handholding. The Seminoles were tired but well maintained. Now I'm an Airbus A320 Captain for a successful low-cost carrier.

I just passed my ATPL at the Long Beach ATP. My MEI was patient and knowledgeable. I have received the necessary ground school and felt well prepared for the check ride. I was even granted quasi unlimited access on their simulator, which made the transition to the Garmin 430 and the Piper Seminole very easy. The overall atmosphere was friendly and conducive to efficient learning. I can only highly recommend this school.

My experiences at ATP Jasper were excellent! Great Southern Hospitality from the training management team leader- Jeff Dockery!!! I had great pleasure of working with MEI Matt Pitts. He is by far the best MEI I've ever worked with. He was very professional, patient, proactive and went above and beyond the usual expectations of a MEI. It has been a few months since I had flown and Matt took the time and patience to get me up to speed. Matt Pitts is an essential asset to ATP Flight Schools. I definitely will be back and most definitely will recommend the ATP Jasper Location!!!!

Obtained my MEI and CFII from ATP (another TX location). It's a great bargain - you get a lot of flight time and dual instruction for little money, but they don't provide any ground school. Plus they would not schedule my flights. I had to show up at 8:00 AM and hang around until they could squeeze me in. If you can do all the ground school yourself and just need to work on the flying, ATP will work great. If you need classroom instruction, maybe not the best for you.

I recently completed ATP training at the location in Birmingham (Jasper), Alabama. As a 21-year USAF fighter pilot with prior civilian flying experience as a CFI and air taxi pilot, I found the course to be thoughtfully laid out with effective training aids. My instructor, Jeff Dockery, and the designated examiner, Gordon Sanders, were skilled, prompt and courteous. The aircraft provided was in excellent condition with complete maintenance records. It was equipped with outstanding avionics, including two Garmin 430 nav/comm units. Training materials provided were first rate. The facilities at this location were quite comfortable, and accessibility was excellent. There is also a CATS written test facility located on site, and I used this to take the flight engineer written examination as well. The airport is equipped with an ILS and there are numerous fields within a short flying distance. The overall quality of the program was excellent and the folks at this location were outstanding.

I went to ATP at KJFX for my MEI add on. I must admit that when I first walked into the office I was not impressed. However the personnel, Jeff and Brandon, were very friendly and helpful and the training given was professional and high quality. When ATP sends the training material, it is a huge benefit to the student to study the subject material well before attending this training and come well prepared as it can be fast paced. I would recommend this location to others for various types of training. My hat is off to Brandon for an excellent job in my instruction. The Examiner, Mr. Sanders, is firm but fair, he will go by the book so be familiar with the PTS prior to your check ride and you'll do fine. Also Sanders Aviation is also a high caliber FBO with down to earth folks. I want to thank all for an excellent experience.

I completed my training with ATP in Las Vegas in April '07. You get out of this program what you put in. They can't hold your hand. I'm not the smartest guy out there so I had to study all the time when I was there and when it came time for the checkrides (you never feel like you prepared enough!) I did well. It seems like there are often too many students and too few instructors. However they are doing their best and thanks to Donnie (one of the best and most patient instructors!) and Pete (one of the toughest instructors) I made it through. Oh yeah there's Dennis (he was a great instructor too but a Chicago Cub's fan so I've got to hold that against him) It took me a month (# students we had in my class, bad weather, and scheduling conflicts with the FAA and DPEs. Come ready! Ground school is like taking a drink from a fire hose. Study the FARS, PTS, and VMC! Luck favors the prepared.

My comment below from 2 April 06 was in reference to KJFX in Jasper, AL. My All ATP experience at Sanders Aviation was top notch and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I was very disappointed with the quality of the ATP flight school at QQA. Four day ATP program turned into a one-month nightmare. No one would call me back to schedule or commit to a time for flight training. Instructors are overloaded with students and overworked. When I finally cancelled –ATP had the nerve to charge me $350/hr for flight time when other schools charge $220/hr. save your money and go elsewhere. I currently fly 135 cargo, 2200 hrs, 1200 multi, 300 actual, CFI/CFII/MEI, and Jim Koziarski of ATP had the nerve to say that I lack experience. (Wow, isn't that why I'm at a training school?) If you think you are getting an edge on the regional airlines, you are in for a rude awakening.
