Large county airport, but service is not great. The fuel truck was in-op so had to use the pump. They did pump the gas, but of course, then I had to restart the engines to move. No offer to wash windows. I had a low tire. They did provide a pressure gauge and air, but I had to do everything myself. Car rental also a problem. I reserved an SUV online with National. I was assured they had the SUV . However, when I got there they really didn't have an SUV. Bottom line - it's an okay airport to fly to, but don't expect much in customer service.

Had a good trip to CMX about a month ago in a B200. I recommend the Country Inn & Suites for an overnight. It's near the Wal-Mart (if you need supplies) and within walking distance to a decent local restaurant. Besides, the warm cookies at the front desk, free breakfast, and free wifi don't hurt either. The FBO is about what you'd expect at a small-uncontrolled field. Nothing bad to say, looking forward to going back next year.

July 26 2007 stopped in for the weekend. Nice facility, personnel very helpful, nice destination.

Very nice people at the FBO. Very easy to get into Houghton or Hankcock if need be. They did not have the greatest tools to plan an IFR flight but all in all a nice place.

CMX has an OK FBO, friendly people there, basic pilot lounge with weather terminal, transient parking was a bit poor, but they did allow us to pull our rental car onto the ramp to un-load. $3.00 parking fee not waived for fuel purchases for singles. Overall an average rating.

We had a very good experience at Houghton. The people from the FBO went out of their way to be helpful and were all very enthusiastic about new management promoting the airport.

My recent stop at CMX was less than great. Fuel price was high. After fouling my plane I moved it to exactly where I was told. I was then asked about an hour later to move it around the corner because they had two Hawkers flying in despite the fact that I was not in anyone's way? I guess they don't like low class twins seen on the ramp? They also do not even have a TV in the pilots lounge? Maybe it might even be a good idea to have a picnic table outside to sit on to enjoy a nice day?
