My wife and I had to quit our flight south due to heavy weather. We landed at KDKK and needed to spend the night. Ray came out to meet us and was very helpful. He tied down the plane and recommended the Clarion Hotel on lake Erie (nice view). Michelle at the desk made a reservation and supplied a free courtesy car (minivan). Came back the next day to find that Ray had moved the plane into a hangar due to a passing storm. Gladly paid the $5 tie-down fee. A-1 friendly service.

Nice airport in good condition. Close to sunset, and the line boy was over to me right away. Nice FBO facility, and the courtesy van is worth a few more dollars per fill up, and the $5 tie down (bring your own rope), especially considering the cost of a taxi. I was impressed with the Clarion for my price of $60...It's much more "deluxe" than higher end hotels I've stayed at..They've done fine so far. Nice shoreline flight...Good destination.

A small countryside (but busy!) airport with appropriate services. Linemen fueled the airplane and we were offered a courtesy car. Took it into town for some food although the directions they gave us were very difficult to follow. Overall, good and professional services.

DKK Aviation/sales have been very professional. I appreciate their work and their attitude toward customers. Brett, the mechanic, said, "it takes 7 times more efforts to bring back customers than to keep them". This is right. Brett installed a new alternator and voltage regulator on my Cessna. I prefer to do the flight to DKK from my home base (where it would take about 14 times the effort to bring me back there). Good work Brett and keep up this great service. Thanks Lou for the great hamburgers/hotdogs on Saturdays!

As I previously noted I bought my plane from Lou Nalbone at Dunkirk in September 2004. About 3 weeks ago one of my partners flew this T182T with about 500 hrs on it to Ashtabula Ohio and after he got there the plane would not start. This was on a weekend. Lou arranged for a flight to go down and pick up my partner, then on Monday he and one of his mechanics Kirby flew down and after changing plugs was able to start the plane and fly it back. There turned out to be oil inside the magnetos, which Kirby replaced with new mags under Cessna warranty. Kirby called me at least three times during this 2-week adventure to keep me updated and to plan how to fix this. I feel his service and willingness to contact me to keep me updated on the status of the problem was far above the usual service I see. Once again I thank Lou and Kirby for their outstanding service.

Came in for a 60th wedding anniversary and stayed five nights. A very nice little airport on the lakefront and it very well should be for four-something a gallon. They didn't mention the five-dollar a night tie-down fee, but that may have been because I had some avionics work done. Dunkirk is a very small town and you don't have many choices, but if possible WATCH OUT for the Clarion Hotel...Bad service and incompetence make for a dangerous combination and a disappointing stay.

Nice airfield, nice folks. They had a Challenger arrive around the same time I was there, but they still provided attentive service. RCO wasn't working, which was mildly irritating as cell phone service wasn't too good near the runway.

Dunkirk is a great place to stop; I had a meeting in near by Fredonia, NY. So I called DKK for some info. They were very helpful with hotel recommendation (The White Inn) very nice!! & Car was ready and waiting. Their fuel truck pulled up just as I shut down, & for $15.00 they put my Cherokee 235 inside until I returned the next afternoon.

I have had my plane there for about a year now. Nothing is cheap - but I feel like I am getting what I pay for. Service is good, the mechanics (Kirby) will talk to you and are knowledgeable and friendly. Very active flight school - usually a couple of young flight instructors hanging around. Mr Lou Nalbone is a busy DPE but is always willing to let me bend his ear if I need something or have a question.

High fuel prices would make me look elsewhere for a fuel stop. Line guy says the boss can't figure out how others charge so much less for fuel. Nice people and decent facility.
