I arrived late Friday night during Fantasy Fest, so I was not surprised to find no available tie-downs. I parked at the end of a line and left the brakes off. Sure enough, they found me a spot on the back (west) forty. The FBO is close enough to the airline terminal that you can walk down to flag a taxi if you can't call for one. Fuel was high, but not outrageous. It was 30 cents lower than most FBOs in Miami during my trip. $30/night for a light single was cut in half with the 10 gallon fuel purchase. The discount was good for the two nights I stayed, but I don't know if it's indefinite. The staff was quick to load us in their van for the drive out to the airplane on departure. Overall, it was a better experience than I had expected based upon some comments here.

Arrived during a busy morning. Line folks were very pleasant and accommodating. They had a cab lined up within minutes. The overall experience was very good. Prices were high (as expected - it is Key West, after all) but with the purchase of 10 gallons fuel, the tiedown price was cut in half. If you plan well, the result is very positive. I'll be back as soon as I can.

They call it a 15.00-landing fee. County or FBO?? But they waive it with 10 gals purchase of gas. Total 50.00 bucks. Who are they fooling. And then 30.00 overnight for a Mooney??

Please check your fuel for water. Twice I have fueled there with large amounts of water in the fuel. The first time I encountered IMC conditions so I thought the fuel cap was not closed properly. I had to make an emergency landing at PHK due to loss of power and the engine sputtering. Last Saturday again same thing this time the engine quit 15 from Everglades Airpark (yep you guessed it, over the ocean at night). There was tons of water in the gascolator and both wing tanks. The line guys are really nice. Fuel is expensive but so is everything on Key West in general.

EYW does have an excellent flight planning facility that is in next building up the stairs. They were most helpful to our flight of two including guided parking.

Met at the plane with a baggage cart for the family, got us a cab quickly. Flying the Keys is breathtaking to begin with and when you land in Key West its awesome. Good quick service. Fuel not bad for a vacation spot. Take the kids they will absolutely love the Keys and Key West.

I flew into Key West Thursday afternoon in my Aerostar. I was a little apprehensive about the service and convenience due to other postings here. My experience was positive in every way. They met me when taxiing in and were professional in all ways. After parking, I ordered 25 gallons of fuel and filled out the normal information. The girl behind the counter was very helpful and immediately called me a cab that I asked for. I explained that I needed to leave later that evening after hours and they showed me how to get into the ramp for departure. The cab arrived in less than two minutes. When I arrived later, the plane was fueled properly with a receipt in the airplane door and there was no additional charge for ramp or parking. IMHO the fuel is priced fairly considering the distance to the pick-up point and normal Key West expenses.

We visited KEYW for 2 days April 21, 2009. This facility is the absolute definition of why a monopoly business perverts a market. $40.00 a night for parking a very light twin is highway robbery. Unless you submit to blackmail of $4.90 /gal fuel than the highway robbery is only 1/2 that. When we taxied in we had to find our own parking. We received no help with the luggage. All they seemed to care about is collecting their fees. It almost made me want to setup a competitive business. Too bad their is no plan B. Fly Safe and enjoy a great town!!

ICFS was very poor in service and prices. They over charge for fuel and overnight parking is a rip off! To charge $30 per night and say they will give you half off after buying 10 gallon at $4.90 per/gal. Line service was quick, tied it down in a tight area and boxed me in so I could not get out with easy and delayed my departure time. Front desk was not friendly or helpful in anyway. Took my money without even a thank you to send me off. I made it a point to tanker out of FMY and X51 to save $2.00 per/gal. FBO was small, dirty bathrooms, pilot/wx brief area was a joke. Get your act together ICFS. Will operate in and out of EYW, but will spend little time and money at ICFS. Have a safe and enjoyable flight.

Nice little place to stop. Friendly staff behind the counter, lots of local advice for places to see and eat; Ramp staff very pleasant and knowledgeable, and kindly brought out the case of oil we'd purchased out to us on the tug. My only complaint is that there is no real flight planning area (just a slanted desk that my chart kept falling off of!) and no weather computer, but they're dealing with a pretty small space there.

Came in for my third trip to Key West, stayed for a week. Lineman greeted me and directed me to a parking spot. Fuel prices are high, but so is every other cost on the island! Buy the minimum (10gal) to have the total parking fees ($15/night after fuel) and fill up somewhere else, like OMN or DAB, for more than $2.00 less per gallon. If you land after the FBO is closed and park in an out of the way spot, you can avoid the parking fee. They won't notice you. Just go out the fence gate and do the same when you're leaving.

The line guys were quite helpful, as soon as I rounded the ramp and picked a spot, a lineman came by with his tug, scooped us up and squeezed our Cherokee into a spot. We hadn't even gotten out yet. The girls at the desk weren't much on pleasantries, but were kind enough... Very quick to get to the dollar aspect. Fuel was high but, if you buy it... It halves the cost of overnight parking. In the grand scheme it still cost less than anything else we bought in Key West! The joy was flying into the area, being used to working in the Tampa class B with a very somber and matter-of-fact form of communications. I contacted Navy approach while over the STRAP intersection and the controller came back with: "Hi, welcome to Key West. The boys are busy today so you'll want to stay clear of the airspace. Report Key West in sight." The hand off was just as friendly... The tower simply said: "Hi, welcome to Key West, please report turning final." It was a nice, pleasant start to a great long weekend.

Agree w/ most comments on this site ref ICFS. Reasonably friendly service for a small piston, but their monopoly is reflected in their prices. Definitely want to buy min fuel from them for any overnights--takes the nightly rate from $30 to $15. Note the $4.71 fuel price does NOT include the tax--correct price is $4.90.

We stayed in Key West for 5 days after flying our Piper Arrow there on vacation. Island City provided great service; the line personnel met us at our airplane and helped unload the luggage. The FBO also gave us a great rate for the Best Western Key Ambassador Hotel which turned out to be a wonderful place to stay. Also they provided information and a phone number for the local scooter dealer which again gave us a discount for the week on brand new scooters. Would highly recommend them, provided an excellent service.

Nice facilities. Friendly Staff. Expensive fuel. Also, before takeoff, during the pre-flight, I found about a gallon on WATER in my left tank. There was a huge storm the night before. Maybe the lineman didn't close the fuel cap all the way on my PA-28. Always check for water!!!

Decent airport, but fuel and overnight fees are ridiculously high. Jet A $5.26 gal plus $200 per night parking fees, that's right for a G1 $200 per night! What irritated us was the fee for a turboprop was advertised as $90 per night, last time I checked we flew a turboprop. Of course lady behind counter was less than helpful and not very nice when I said a G1 is a turboprop.

We have flown into Key West several times in the past few months and have always received exceptional service from Island City. They may be the only GA FBO on the field, but they go out of their way to make us feel at home! If you want a quiet place to stay on the beach, try the Barnacle B&B on Big Pine Key about 40 minutes drive north.

This is the only FBO on a rather small airport. Due to the location, the ramp is normally crammed and they park the airplane High-Low-High-Low wing. Difficult to preflight and doesn't make me comfortable, but I've never had a problem and can understand it. The FBO is also crammed into a small building with weather/internet computers and an adjacent pilot lounge. We didn't pay a fee for our day stay with fuel purchase. It seems like a very hectic place at times, but most people who work there that I've encountered where ok to nice. Beware of taxi prices on the island. $7.50/person per way, so $60 for a round trip with four. Rental cars are available at the terminal next door for $45. N17386.

Spent a week at EYW. If I didn't buy fuel it was going to be $30 a night. With some fuel it was ONLY $15 per night. Line guys were great the counter girls were helpful at times. Minimal flight planning area. Oh well what are ya gonna do.

Fun place to fly in to. Fuel is not cheap, so I don't buy it here. Ramp fee was $15. Services are null at the FBO. Small preflight area upstairs. Ramp guys have always been friendly. First conversation from desk girls has always been asking for the landing fee. Any other conversation seemed to be an inconvenience. City ordinance keeps taxi fees low: $7.50 per person with a $15 minimum anywhere you want to go. That's about as low as I've ever seen. "Conch Republic" is a great place for seafood on the water. All in all, it is a great way to spend a day!

Had been planning my long instrument cross country flight for weeks, hurricane Gustav was just off the coast when we flew down, it appeared we would be able to spend the day there and get out that evening just fine. Shortly after we landed the weather began to detonate. We weren't able to get out until early the next morning the linemen let us crash in the pilot's lounge after hours until the weather cleared up. Appreciate all the help and service.

This is the only airport I've ever had to pay an overnight charge at while still buying 67 gallons of fuel. The line guys were great. The girls behind the counter were great. But the fuel prices and fees are ridiculous. How can there be a monopoly on this airport? They need some competition.

The female controller was very pleasant, suggest calling ahead to get Island City freq, the controller gave it to me because I did not know where to park. Ramp was busy on Sunday. Island City had me stop in front of there building where we got out, went inside and filled out a ticket. Name, address, amount of fuel needed. A cab was waiting. We went into town and had lunch and walked around a little. (Cab ride is not cheap) returned to the airport about 4 hours later, gave them my tail #, paid for fuel (was not charged any other fee) my plane was parked and tied down 200' outside the building, had the pleasure of the same female tower controller, departed. Very nice airport staff.

Wife and I flew in June 27 for a quick overnight. Before we could reach the FBO, the cab was ready and waiting. Line guy assured me that my plane would not be buried since I was there only one night. On departure, it was waiting right on the front line for me. Sure it’s an expensive place to land, but so is everything else on this island. N6637D Beech Sierra,

Flew in on Saturday. Went inside to register. First statement out of desk clerk's mouth was 40 dollars ramp fee. Very poor customer service. Then me and passengers went to leave on Sunday. Aircraft was not on ramp. Asked lineman, and provided him with tail #. He came back towing wrong airplane. My passengers were sweltering on the pavement. Finally located my airplane after 45 minutes of confusion. They had parked it on other end of field and forgot it was there (my new Baron). This place suks. Big FBO prices, with Gomer Pile Service. Competition would do these folks GOOD!

My family and I stayed April 1st-4th. Very convenient and wonderful service for us "small" guys. Our first time into KEYW and had a great sightseeing flight down the Keys. Overnight fees are half off with fuel purchase. As soon as we landed, we unloaded, and Island City had a cab waiting for us. Upon departure, the plane was fueled as requested, secured properly, and ready to go. A painless and quick process helped make our vacation wonderful. We can't wait to go back.

Went to Key West with the GF for the weekend. Everything about Island City FBO was top notch except for the woman working behind the counter. Had an excellent experience in June 2007. The staff was friendly, professional, and courteous. Volunteered to call for a shuttle to the hotel, offered to help with baggage, and had the plane ready when we asked for it. Surprisingly helpful despite being the only FBO on the field.

3/31/06. Flew into Key West today and the ramp service was fantastic. These guys handle large and small with the same professional approach. Great airport, although busy, but you get a great feeling as if flying to a Caribbean Island airport. If you want to meet Peter Sellers, fly into Key West and park at Island Air. A very nice lineman met us and as soon as we had unloaded the aircraft, he was attending to it. Peter had pre-arranged to have our Enterprise rental car at the airport and we spent no more than 15 minutes getting out of the airport after arrival. Nice people and very efficient.
