What a great airport! Friendly people, terrific service, and you can walk to the Wawa and Subway Deli's for great food and drink. I highly recommend Shannon for a delightful destination.

Flew in for the Weekend to visit a friend. Billie at Aire Shannon could not have been more helpful. Answered my questions via email before I arrived, gave me a nearby tiedown. This is just a friendly country airstrip. And the owner is behind the front desk. You can't beat the fuel prices! Only heads up is the AWOS-3 is OTS. I'll be back. Fredericksburg is a great place to visit. Even getting through the ADIZ was no hassle.

There is a Wawa (discount gas station) with plenty of hot and cold sandwiches made-to-order, snacks, and drinks. It is a short walk away, but you will need directions since it is not visible from the FBO.

These folks are really helpful. Lately, I have been using this airport quite a bit. Rental cars are always waiting for me as promised (even after hours). Self serve fuel is available 24/7. Hangar space is also available.
