We have flown into Grant, Nebraska on several occasions. One time during the winter, we needed to take care of business in Grant. Bill helped get the courtesy car started and snow cleaned off; he also took care of our airplane. When we offered to pay him he politely refused and said to stop at Grant again. The service was outstanding!

My wife and I stopped in Grant for fuel and lunch on the way to Colorado Springs. Bill loaned us a car while he topped off our plane. He was very helpful and pleasant. He even helped me top off my brake fluid reservoir for no charge. We will definitely stop again.

I flew into Grant as part of a long cross-country today. Even though it was Labor Day, Bill was there to meet us as we parked the aircraft and pointed us in the direction of town. He had even gone so far as to scout ahead and find out exactly what was open since it was a holiday. He was certainly one of the friendliest guys I have had the pleasure of meeting. My only regret was not having enough time to stick around and chat, but I look forward to seeing him again on our next trip through. Thanks for the hospitality, Bill.

I have flown in and out of Grant several times during the past few months. Bill has always been there to greet us with a smile and offer whatever assistance we may need. I highly recommend making Grant a mandatory stop on your next cross-country. It is an enjoyable experience!!

I flew a King Air in for the day. Bill made me feel like one of the guys. He is a wealth of aviation knowledge and history and goes out his way to help people.

My wife and I landed at Grant Municipal airport on our way to Denver. I called Bill and he hustled out to the airport to help us fuel up and got us quickly on our way. Bill was great and we look forward to stopping there again.

Bill runs the best little airport around. We all need help keeping our planes flying, and he's "full service" in that department... An eye for detail, an encyclopedic knowledge of the FARs, and experience. If you behave, he'll let you borrow the best airport car ever. I'll be back, Bill!

We stopped for fuel en route from Cody, WY to Butler, MO. Bill is a great guy, fun to talk to and very helpful in every way. We were on a schedule or we would have liked to hang around and enjoy the hospitality for all day. Bill squeezed the last few drops of fuel he had into our Cherokee managing to top us off, despite being unexpectedly drained of fuel supply by a gang of returning-from-Oshkosh pilots! The atmosphere is a poignant reminder of how friendly so many local airports used to be in the "good old days". We recommend stopping whenever in the area, it’s guaranteed to brighten your flying day!

Great place to stop. Bill Besarick went out of his way to make our stop a pleasant one with beverages, big smile and fast fuel service. He got us on our way in no time. Would have liked to stay longer if we had the time.

Great service, very helpful.

Like the rest of the comments, I have nothing bad to say. Flew into Grant, NE to repair a crane in Madrid (just down the road). I called ahead, and Bill met us with the Crew car warmed up. He provided us with his home and cell phone numbers just in case. This is a wonderful stop if you get the chance do so, if simply for the conversation only. FYI they accept cash or check for fuel only.

Visited GGF yesterday on a cold January day and Bill met us at the airplane with a warmed up courtesy car so we could go eat lunch. This is a very pilot friendly stop and Bill will help you any way he can. These are the kind of operators we want to keep in business, stop and give them a try.

From Steve Hamilton on 29-Aug-2006
The comments about "Bill" are true -- a very friendly and helpful fellow willing to do what ever you need to get on your way safely. Outstanding service and the best fuel prices around -- beware of other fuel prices in the area that change rapidly and are not updated by FBOs or other flyers in a timely manner on AirNav -- call ahead. Bill's were as advertised.

Drop in and see Bill. It will be a pleasant experience. He will help you any way he can. I will stop by any time I am in the area.

I was flying a light twin from Florida to Montana. We happen to develop a problem and landed 16 miles north of Grant. No one was at the airport there but Bill's name and number was on the window. I called him and he had a guy fly oil to me. When I flew the plane to him, he had coffee waiting for us and checked out my plane. He spent a couple of hours checking things out then sent us on our way. He then checked on us to make sure we made it home. I have been flying since I was 16 (26 years now) owned a number of planes, flew F-16's for the Air Force and now fly for the airlines. Never in all that time have I ran across a guy like this. If you even get near Grant NE stop in and give him your business you won't be disappointed! Bill, thank you and keep going the extra mile for your fellow pilots.
