You can't go wrong with either FBO here, but Desert Skies's strategy seems to be to keep their FS price a penny below D2's SS price, so why not? Good fuel stop.

These guys are great, gave me a 10-cent discount off the price of avgas when they were already 10 cents less than the other FBO. Very friendly, helpful, gave us a golf cart ride to and from our plane with full service fuel. Nice building with nice computer workstation and lounge. I was very impressed with their service. This was over Memorial Day weekend, 2008.

I have a covered tie down at Havasu and have had for years. Unfortunately it usually is only protecting my pickup, as we don't get there as much as we used to. This week I came in on a Friday evening only to find someone's car parked in my spot..... Bummer. The guys at Desert Skies were amazingly helpful. They actually put my plane in their hangar for a couple of days until the offender returned and DS put my plane back into my spot..... And all at NO COST!!! So not only do Andy and the rest of the crew do an amazing job of providing fuel at some of the lowest prices around but also provide a level of service that hasn’t been seen (in my opinion) for many years!!! Try it for yourself and hopefully you will get the same treatment that I have been getting for every time I am there!!!

Stopped at HII for the weekend; excellent service with friendly and helpful people, not to mention the great fuel prices. When leaving had a mechanical brake problem and had to return to the parking area. Helped me get the bird to a tie-down area and offered "whatever they could do for me". Different days, different people, always same great service.

I have had several visits since last posting and no change in the excellent service. Lowest 100LL in the area. AirNav price $3.78 but filled for $3.58. I come light and return to San Diego with full tanks. The change from Sun Western was seamless for us pilots. Friendly, helpful and a nice facility. I highly recommend using Desert Skies. Thanks again to everyone. SR-22 N8148F

Very nice people. I kept a Cessna 310 there for a few months for flight training. They always treated me great when I came out on the weekends. Loaned me a car when I needed to go to town and treated me like a rock star even though I wasn't flying a Gulfstream.

We were met at the plane with cool water & a smile. Excellent all around. John the General Manager says that soon there will be a coffee shop/snack bar on the field, which will make this a fine stop for the $100 hamburger crew. Especially since KIFP is less exciting now since their terminal moved to the east side of the field. Town is about 8 miles away, but John has a fine crew car he'll let you borrow. Be kind and top it up when done.

Desert Skies has recently re-done sun western and Wow, what a difference. They finally have crew cars and the inside is very nice. Gas prices remain very good and we are always taken care off by Andy there. We will continue to go there anytime we go to HII!

Sun Western is now Desert Skies Executive Air Terminal. They have completely refurbished the interior, bathrooms, and lobby area. They now have two crew cars, the golf carts are now RED instead of blue and there will soon be a deli and coffee bar. The fuel prices are guaranteed to be the lowest prices on the field and they still have the same great employees and service. Don't forget...Follow the RED cart to fuel savings.

As a frequent visitor to Lake Havasu, Sun Western Flyers is my one stop shop. The gang there always provides top-notch service. Andy and crew are ready to go with quick turn arounds when needed. I frequently stop for fuel from Phoenix to California on my return trips, as it's hard to beat their fuel prices. It's worth the stop for the friendly service which is getting harder and harder to find these days. Keep up the good work guys & gals at SWF, I promise to get you up in the 195 one of these days, when it cools down. When at Havasu I always remember to follow the blue golf carts. The complimentary ice cold water is great too!

Hey what a good time I had stopping at Sun Western for fuel. I am a student pilot on a cross-country, I was very nervous about landing at HII because the winds started to increase. The fueler and a lady by the name of Brenda help to calm me down an did a fast refuel to get me on the way home before any rain moved in. So if anyone needs fuel or service stop at Sun Western you will not forget these people and again Thanks.

Flew into Lake Havasu on Friday, 2007-04-13, to gas up for a trip on to eastern Arizona. The terminal weather looked really bad my wife and I decided to stay for a while. I asked Andy if they had a courtesy car and he said no, but pulled out the keys to his personal pickup and told me that we ought to take an hour or so to see the London Bridge. We later decided to stay the night and the Sun folks quickly got us a Hertz rental brought over to the front door. Great people and great gas prices.

I flew into HII last Friday afternoon and was greeted by Andy who helped me tie down and button up the plane for the weekend. My Hertz car was waiting for me at the front door. Upon returning Monday, the plane was re-fueled and ready to go. I specifically call Sun Western on Unicom for the great service. Call Pam in advance for any special needs and she will help with you arrangements. Great fuel prices also.

Follow the blue hospitality cart. You will not be disappointed! All the people at Sun Western flyers are great. Extremely attentive to your needs and very helpful. The best part of all is that they have the least expensive fuel at the airport, and they bring it to you! What more could you ask?

Having used both FBO's, there is no question that Sun Western Flyers provides the best customer service in Lake Havasu City. Their linemen are the most knowledgeable I have ever encountered and Brenda and Pam go far and beyond to help with whatever you may need. When in Havasu, follow the blue golf carts.

I fly into HII about twice a week. I have been to both FBO's and by far the best service on the field is Sun Western. Many times I have not purchased fuel, but still get the same great service. Most times I get parked right up front, and I am always greeted professionally. Fuel prices are very competitive and the coffee is hot and fresh all day.

Flew into Lake Havasu and thought it was funny there was two different follow me carts. So I followed the blue one. That was my first mistake. The FBO looked like it was a dump and the people would rather talk about themselves then do their job. So if you fly into Havasu don't go to Sun Western try the other FBO. I did.

Flew into lake havasu and after my previous experience with d2 I chose instead to go to Sunwestern. This is the best service I have ever had... Fueler met me at the plane and had me fueled in under 10 minutes... And the fuel was cheaper than D2! The ladies and gentlemen behind the desk were very helpful and I highly recommend Sunwestern over D2aero... Follow the blue golf cart!

I have been coming to Sun Western Flyers with our company Citation now for over three years and have consistently found their service above average and their fuel prices below average! Came to LHC on the way to AOPA in Palm Springs. Chose Sun Western based on previous good experience. Unfortunately my partner did not. He ended up paying more for fuel than I did. Two years ago after showing up ten minutes BEFORE the workday ended at Sunwest and facing a hefty charge if I wanted fuel, I based my plane at A09 until D2 opened. Maybe someone was having a bad day, but that is just not customer service. And since gas is always about the same price at both places, I'll pass on Sunwest.

I fly a Prop-Jet Bonanza and was returning to KSEE from McCall, Idaho and needed a fuel stop. I knew from previous visits that Sun Western at Lake Havasu had low fuel prices and the airport would be easy to get in and out of. I called the Lake Havasu unicom frequency about 20 miles out and a nice friendly voice provided me with Sun Western's unicom frequency. I let them know that I needed Jet-A fuel and was looking for a quick turn around. Upon my roll out to the taxiway, the "Follow Me" cart was waiting and directed me to the front of their building. By the time I had shutdown and exited the airplane, the fuel truck was already in position. In the amount of time that it took my wife and I to walk to the office and visit the restroom, the plane had been fueled and the bill was ready for me to sign. We were off and on our way in what seemed like 15 minutes. Great service Lake Havasu Sun Western, thank you, and the Jet-A fuel price was $1.50 per gallon less than McCall Aviation.

I had a very different experience from the previous posting here - my experience was very good. Good fuel price, a cool FBO (air conditioners do break, you know) and excellent service in the early morning to get me going with a flat battery. Thanks to all. PS no fuel on the wing either.

I stop at Sun Western in Lake Havasu two to three times a week. Their service is always quick and if there is room, you can park up front. They will give you a water bottle on a hot day, and bend over backwards to help you out. Brenda always talks to you and will help in any way she can.
