Stopped in to the Airport Steak House for dinner Saturday 10/3. Definitely a couple of steps up from your average airport cafeteria. The menu included steaks, seafood, salads, and chicken, for decent prices. Most entrees $10-$15, some of the larger steaks were $20-$25. My steak was done properly and nicely seasoned. Full bar if your passengers want to imbibe. The decor was very nice - upscale, and some good aviation memorabilia, but not oppressive. Good view of the airport too, although on a CAVU Saturday evening we were the only airplane on the airport. If you're coming for the restaurant, just ask to park at the terminal (base of the tower) and enter in through the pilot's lounge. Plenty of tiedowns, and if you need fuel Wells will drive their fuel truck over with a call from the pilot's lounge. We'll definitely be back.

Yesterday I had lunch at the Steakhouse after leaving my aircraft at Mead Aviation Services for its annual. The food was always replenished quickly at the buffet. The salad was good and the entrees were hot and tasty. For a buffet and a drink of that size for $9.00 it was a very good value. The place was "packed" but the service was good considering the huge amount of guests at 12:30pm on a Friday.

My wife and I were in Hutchinson last weekend, and decided to try the lunch buffet we'd heard about. It was ok, but nothing really to get excited about. The best place we ate at while there was Carriage Crossing, in Yoder, a small Amish community a few miles south of the airport. I had smoked sausage, and my wife had ham, both from the local meat market (Yoder Meats) across the road. Then fresh baked pie for dessert. Yum! The cost was about the same as the buffet, and the food was much, much better!

Stopped in for fuel and breakfast. Wells took great care of the plane while I was eating at the Airport Steakhouse, which is not only known for a great steak, but a huge breakfast. Highly recommend both. Walking distance from one another.

Stopped for famous Sunday lunch buffet at Airport Steakhouse. It was better than advertised. Buffet for two was $24, including tip. Wells Aircraft FBO provided excellent fueling and tie-down service. Clean bathrooms in terminal.
