I fly a Cessna 414 for a Corporate Group. I was informed of an overnight trip to the Bay Area. I called various FBO's in the area and decided to try Volo. They had the lowest priced fuel and there were no ramp or overnight charges with fuel purchase. They have the best coffee of any FBO that I have visited. Leonard was very helpful on the ramp.

From Dennis Elrod on 20-Jul-2009
Flew into Hayward in June. Called ahead on the week before to set up a crew car. They assured me it would be available. Ground Control directed us to the ramp. There were no markings indicating where to park, or personnel directing us. With no clear markings, I inadvertently parked in another FBO location. As I went in and asked about fuel, the crew car, and a tie down, I was told "the fuel pump is broken until morning, there was no crew car available, and just park your airplane in front of the pumps." I mentioned I hadn't seen any tiedowns there. They said to just park the plane there and not to worry about a tiedown, as "it'll be fine, nothing happens to planes here. If you really want to tiedown, we can direct you a couple hangers down." Needless to say, I was less than impressed. My decision was to taxi down to Atlantic where I've always gotten great service. In fact, the fuel was $0.52/gallon more, but I got a free crew car for the night. I won't be back to Volo.

Great service; Volo has a crew car (mini van) available for short trips. They helped shuttle me to retrieve my own car from the shop, and let me park the vehicle overnight at the FBO. I'll be back!

Have always had a very pleasant experience with the Hayward Jet Center and now Volo Aviation. Called and talked to John and arranged a couple rental cars and a couple nights of tie downs. Taxied in both cars were waiting everything went very well. Look forward to the new facility to match the level of customer service. Also to the other poster who complained about not answering the radio they have a new frequency. 129.725

Just recently I have been able to visit both FBO locations on the field and it seems to me, Volo Aviation has much more knowledgeable staff working for them then there rival Atlantic. There customer service was pleasant and down to earth making my trip so much less stress free. I am excited to see how much better they can be with a new building coming soon...

From Juliet Dempsey on 20-Sep-2008
Flew into HWD last week. Called ahead on the Unicom to request a rental car. No answer. Landed and called on the Unicom a second time. No answer. Taxied down to the Volo ramp and there were no personnel on the ramp to marshal me in. Aircraft parked in all directions, no cones, seemed like a liability. Appears management is missing at Volo. Taxied down to Atlantic and was treated with standard FBO services.

Thumbs up! Had to make a short notice trip to Hayward area on a Sunday, Great service, and friendly staff. Really appreciated the use of the courtesy van. Good location and easy in/out. Thanks for the service

From Tim Burcham on 31-Aug-2008
Good service, but I am not sure it is worth paying the highest price for fuel in the bay area.

From Randall Perkins on 13-Jul-2008
No SS fuel for at least several months...Waiting on new building...There gas price is a joke...Go to Palo Alto for $5.78 a gallon.

From Jim Halpert on 07-Jun-2008
Great service! Every thing I needed, Volo had for me..The line service guys were great and very friendly, we will be back for sure.. Thanks Volo

From Chris Verbil on 07-Jun-2008
Self serve fuel pump now placarded as "out of service". Pulled up to pump, shut down before I noticed the sign. The linemen in the fuel shack definitely noticed me but didn't bother to even come out and ask if I'd like fuel from the truck instead. Would have been easy sale for them, there were two 100LL trucks sitting literally right there.

From Chris Verbil on 11-May-2008
On 5/06/08 used self serve pump at Volo. No price posted outside. At completion of fuel load, machine did not print out receipt. Went inside to the fuel shed, they seemed bothered that I asked for a receipt, and they told me the price was $5.20. So who knows what my credit card bill will say after it is posted. Let the buyer beware! Doesn't seem like the new management/ownership has their act together quite yet.

Excellent experience with Volo aviation. Any transition pains they might have been having seem to have worked themselves out. Arrived in our little Piper and were treated like royalty. Met by three line guys, car pulled up, carpet laid down, bags unpacked. Car rental went flawlessly. No problems letting us help put the airplane away in the transient hangar. Airplane was treated with respect. We pre-flighted in the hangar, and they pulled us out when we were ready to go. Excellent experience all around.

New ownership according to the line folks -- lots of rough edges. We rented a car for 2 days, were billed for 10 plus $90 in fuel (returned it full -- can a Malibu even hold $90 in fuel?).. They couldn't get it fixed for me after 5 calls; I had to track down Hertz myself. They sold me expired charts -- sadly, I didn't notice that one until airborne. Management seems to be AWOL. Line guys were friendly, in a resigned "hope this turns around" sort of way. I'd give them a few months to shake out the bugs.

Three times in the last couple of months I needed a place in the SFO/OAK area where I could land late at night, get a rental car, and buy avgas at reasonable (for California) prices. After calling ahead and trying Hayward Jet the first time, I just kept coming back! It's a small operation, but they really seem to care. The car was ready each time, a parking spot for the plane was all marked out for me, and they even arranged excellent maintenance from another provider on the field when I needed it on this last trip. Really good folks!

From F Morio on 04-Sep-2007
One of the best FBOs I've ever stopped at. While their facilities are rather limited, the line crew and overall attitude of their employees is outstanding. I wish more FBOs were like that. Thanks much!

From Bob Williams on 26-Aug-2007
Stopped over for a 2-week stay, great service, rental car, very professional line crew and staff, couldn't ask for any more. I'll be back next trip.

From Mike Hayward on 02-Jul-2007
Consistent pattern of excellent service. Friendly staff assisted in loading and unloading the aircraft, airing up tires and taking delivery of our rental car. I departed around 6:30 am and they had fresh coffee and two very nice, clean restrooms to see us on our way.

I was very impressed by Mary, the lady that is usually at the front desk at Hayward Jet Center. I recently called her to ask if they had a terminal chart for SF since I had misplaced mine. She said they were out of them but would order one for me and expedite the order so as to have it for me when I arrived for my next flight. Since the chart did not arrive in time Mary took the initiative and found one somewhere on the field and bought it and had it ready and waiting for me when I arrived. Thanks Mary! But this is not unusual for Mary. She is always ready to provide assistance whatever the issue may be...And always with a positive upbeat attitude and a smile.

From Keith Wannamaker on 15-May-2007
Four minutes on the ramp for pax pickup yielded a $15 ramp fee. Confirmed with Brad, manager, that there is no minimum time to incur the fee. Mary at desk, resolutely stated that multiple pax pickups in the same day would each incur the $15 fee, but Brad corrected this and said only one $15 fee per day would be collected. Also, call ahead to get your pax the gate code.

Flew Cessna 172 into HWD on 04/25/07 - 04/27/07. Hayward Jet Center provided me with the best service, both parking and fuel. Enterprise delivered rental car to Jet Center and picked it up. Norhern CA controllers were very helpful on Bay Area tour. Definitely the FBO of my choice. Very highly recommended.

From Michael Sutton on 14-Mar-2007
Terrific service! We were able to borrow the crew car to attend a birthday party in Hayward with our two kids. They treated us with polite professionalism. This is a class act. We'll be back!

From Brian Hash on 11-Dec-2006
I fly a Citation into the Bay area almost every week. When we fly into Hayward we always go to the Hayward Jet Center. Its simply the best service all the way around in the entire Bay area.

From Thomas Esgate on 18-Nov-2006
Flew in to HWD in my Piper Dakota for the first time 11/11/06. Hayward Jet Center provided me with the best service I've had in my 16 years of flying. Rental Cars were not available on Sunday so they provided me with a crew car at no charge! Very nice people.

From Michael Grimm, N1317R on 15-Nov-2006
I have never had a FBO take better care of me. Pulling up in my little Cheetah they still put out the red carpet. They also took me to BARD, and were waiting when I got back. If you have a choice of which airport to fly into in the SFO area, go to HWD, and definitely choose HWD Jet Center.
