Landed at Lakeland for AOPA convention. Columbia set up hotel and car for us. Saved a real bundle and the drive into Tampa was only 30 minutes. The folks at Columbia were the most friendly and accommodating people I have run into at any FBO in the recent past. In fact, when we got home we discovered we had left my wife's handicap placard in the rental car. Christy at Columbia, when called by me from home, went out and found the thing and mailed it back to us. A great relief for my wife and me too. Can't say enough good things about Columbia people and support.

I had a noteworthy experience with this FBO in the recent past; its management, and customer support. I am a corporate pilot on a mid sized jet and we had 2 segments scheduled through LAL. The trip required a great deal of coordination so that the process to our passengers would appear seamless. All the employees including management were friendly and considerate to our needs. Charges were waived and good prices were obtained on fuel. We had changes to our plans and more coordination occurred with the same level of service. Finally the trip was cancelled (that's corporate aviation for you) and I had to call again and scrap the entire mission. The entire group handled it professionally. The FBO really wanted our business and I sincerely welcomed the attitude they had towards us. Thanks to you all for you help. See you next time!

Excellent service. Today I could not take on anymore fuel, however I appreciated that they did not charge me a ramp fee or handling fee, I will be sure to buy fuel next time.

This FBO is excellent! The facilities are top notch and the employees are caring and efficient. I will continue to use Columbia for my visits to Lakeland. Rental car, fuel, flight planning are always easy a pleasure.

What a great FBO. My T-34 had a mechanical issue so we couldn't leave Sun N Fun, the staff was more than accommodating to my requests, they towed the plane and tied it down until our Mx folks could fly down and fix it. The manager, Stephen, was an excellent host and took care of our fees as we had already bought a full bag of gas. The gals behind the desk waived the overnight fee for some patches from my flight jacket, what a deal! Will definitely visit again!!!

Very poor service for high priced fuel. Fuel truck fueling aircraft next to me, 4/24/2009. Asked for fuel. Was told, "Take a number and get in line". Called desk for fuel. 2 hours later was called back and told they couldn't find my airplane. Explained where it was, still no truck. Flew to X35 and got fuel for $1.10 cheaper. It was on my way so why put up with poor service.

Excellent service at Sun n' Fun. For those who don't want to taxi in the grass and dust Columbia provides free same day tie down, and van service to and from the south side of the field. The EAA really dropped the ball by stopping north side service WITHOUT prior notice, and for charging for parking and insisting we purchase their $30 tie downs. Thanks for saving the day, Columbia Air Services!

Called today and got some data that I thought might be useful for others, so posting it here: If coming in for Sun N Fun, they are charging 25/night for singles and 35/night for twins for tie-down on the ramp. Avgas is 4.35/gal full-serve and the self-serve is closed for the event. No waiving of a night of tie-down with fuel purchase, you pay for the tie-downs regardless of fuel purchase.

Stopped in for an overnight stay on a scouting mission for Sun n Fun 2009. The staff was very courteous, helpful and friendly. My rental car was waiting for me on the ramp and the fuel prices were acceptable for the service provided. A very good visit.

Very good service. They were unable to hangar the plane but found space with WingWaxers next door at the same price. Good FBO and recommended for their help on this trip.

Dropped in on 11-12-08 for fuel & a bathroom break. Great service & a very nice FBO. Had never been into Lakeland before so the FBO was a random pick but I will stop at Columbia again when in the area. Vic Roberts 6161F

In my 30 years of flying, I have never experienced the quality of service that I get from Columbia. This is a clean, friendly and well-run FBO.

While doing my long cross-country for my IFR ticket, my planes battery died at KLAL on a Sunday afternoon. If it weren't for the people at Columbia, it would have been a real pain in the ***, and expensive. These guys helped in every way possible and got me back in the air (with the help of Barry at Wing Waxers). They were beyond awesome! Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

Flew in to KLAL to drop off a plane and pick one up at Columbia. I was chocked upon arrival and greeted right away by very accommodating staff. A nice mix on the ramp to include a Beechjet, Pilatus PC-12 and even three T-6 Trainers from the US Navy. I highly recommend Columbia!

Self-serve pump was broken but lineman gave me full at self-price and moved my PA28 into a tie-down slot. Nice WIFI access and friendly staff inside.

Flew down to KLAL on 3/29, and was very impressed with the service. Upon arrival, I was ushered to a nice parking spot next to a Gulfstream-IV. As soon as my prop stopped turning, an attendant had chocked my front wheel and asked if there was anything that they could do for me. I was going into town for a couple of hours, so while I was gone, they fueled the plane. I found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. The on-site Hertz Rentals worked great and I had a fresh late-model car to drive to my meeting. I hope to be back soon!

We arrived on the 23rd of April and had an unexpected, pleasant experience. Another pilot had suggested that I take advantage Columbia's services. From the guys on the line that early evening to the wonderful girl in the office we were treated great. Everyone was professional and very helpful. I will without a doubt return to do business with Columbia. Thanks again for everything.

My wife and I went to Columbia Air Services on 2-16-07. There was absolutely NO help from the line people as two of them stood nearby and watched us maneuver the airplane to park it, tie down, unload bags, and lug them into the FBO area. There were no chocks and I had to use my own along with one of my tie down straps. As we departed a few days later, Tommy could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Go figure.

Great FBO! Friendly linemen and friendly desk personnel. If, however, you are arriving after they close, things get more complicated. I have visited many FBOs around the country and they all have a gate that lets you out late at night. You may not be able to get back in, but you can get out. That is not the case here. My fiancée and I had to jump the fence to leave the airport. We later learned the trick. One needs to call the Security Guard on his cell phone and he can let you out. His number is 863-860-1655. He doesn't monitor Advisory after the tower closes because he finds the police band more interesting.

We flew into LAL about 6:30 one evening after a frustrating stop at Tallahassee Commercial (68J). FBO made all our troubles melt away — pleasant and helpful, and the cafe upstairs had a good menu, good food, good prices, and pleasant service.
