Stopped at Central Am to avoid some weather moving through IN. Line guys were great; later asked if we wanted tied down when it looked like Louisville might get the edge of the storm. Very nice FBO, 2 televisions to help pass the time. Gals in the office were personable. We'll be back.

We were back for another 6 day stay and were treated great by Central American Airways. Very good service and friendly staff.

We had another five-day layover, but this time it was during Thunder Over Louisville. The ramp was mobbed but the staff got everyone moved around and fueled. I watched how they moved the 340 and the crew was very good and did not overturn the nosewheel.

Had a nice visit to Central American and a five-day stay over. Very nice folks, but their self-serve is not working for a while. They did give me the self-serve price from out of the truck. Hopefully they can find the funds to upgrade their self-serve and truck.

Another positive experience at Central American. As usual, the car rental with Sandy at Thrifty was great -- car was provided after-hours by Central American staff, and return on Sunday morning was no problem. Highly recommended!

I wrote on 08-Jun-2006 about a bad experience I had with Thrifty, but received a very nice letter a couple days ago from Sandy explaining what went wrong over Memorial Day weekend. She had seen my comments here on AirNav and sent me the letter. It was one of those situations that typically happen during a holiday period due to personnel changes, etc. The car I had requested was there waiting, it's just that the paperwork wasn't in view so the counter gal ordered a different car broght in. Lesson learned - if any problems with Thrifty, just make sure Sandy is called and I'm sure all problems will disappear.

Great experience with Thrifty. Reserved the car one day in advance, arrived on time, and Sandy drove in within 5 minutes on a Sunday to give me my car. $26 pilot rate for a Chevy Malibu. She even gave me another 10% off because I had a little trouble with the car's transmission. My experience with the desk staff wasn't quite as nice. The fuel was provided as ordered, but the desk staff seemed bored and uninterested in talking to me. They kept saying they were "OK for a Monday".

Very friendly line and desk staff, rental car was ready to go... Lounge is nice and quiet. No crew car, but excellent restaurant (Mazzoni's) right across the street.

Sorry to say my experience with CAA and Thrifty weren't as positive as others report. I made a Thrifty car rental 30 days in advance of my Memorial Weekend Sunday trip. Sandy was very pleasant and said she'd make sure it went smoothly even though it was a holiday weekend. She said the car would be ready. I showed up on schedule at 3:15pm but no car was available - there was no record of my rental. The CAA gal got on phone with someone and arranged for Thrifty to bring a car from another site. This took about 45 minutes. I missed the wedding ceremony I flew in for. When I got the receipt in the mail from Sandy it was for a $49 rental; not the $26 rental we agreed on. Ordinarily I wouldn't complain, but since the rental didn't go smooth I sent Sandy an email, but she didn't reply back. The CAA experience wasn't so great either. I was staying overnight and asked to have plane tied down. When I returned the following morning it wasn't tied down - this was after a major thunderstorm overnight.

Great FBO. Line crew and staff were exceptional - even given we were in a 172, did not need fuel, and the place was busy with Thunder over Louisville taking place. By the time we were tied down they had a cab waiting for us. It was also neat to be tied up next to the Lima Lima demonstration team. (Great performance guys!) We would definitely recommend!

Great FBO! My wife and I arrived in a 172 for Thunder over Louisville and received exceptional service from the line crew and staff even though we did not need fuel. (It was also neat to be tied up next to the Lima Lima demonstration team!) I would highly recommend.

Nice FBO great service. Line guys went over and above taking care of me in a C-182 just before storms rolled in. The rental car process was the way it should be.....Painless. Thanks guys I'll be back

After a less-than-satisfactory experience at a competing FBO, for my next arrival at KLOU I called ahead to Central American, who put me in touch directly with Sandy, the Thrifty agent right there in their facility. When I taxied in, shut down and mentioned I had a car reserved to the line guy, he ran in and told Sandy. By the time I was getting out of the plane, she was driving up to plane-side with my car ready for me to unload into. Extremely helpful! The rate was great, too -- $26/day for a new, clean compact car. Returning the car on Sunday when Sandy would not be there was no problem, as I was given the gate combination, an easy place to park inside the gate, and there was a lock box to drop the key into. Central's physical facilities were also better laid out and more comfortable. In the future, I'll be coming to Central and renting with Sandy at Thrifty.

Arrived on February 17 around 5:30PM. I parked the plane directly in front of the FBO Office. My rental car was ready immediately. I arrived 30 minutes later than scheduled, but Sandy at Thrifty had all the paperwork ready. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, SANDY!! Line crew towed my C-177 to the tie-down area as soon as I unloaded. Temperatures were -15 C over the weekend, and line service provided a hangar at no charge!! I purchased 5 gallons of fuel and received no ramp fee and no hangar fee!! My thanks to the office ladies and to line service! GREAT FBO! I will definitely be returning to Central American.

Very nice FBO, but their young help forget some things like heating and fueling the plane before we got to the airport. Not a big deal, but no one seemed to care about the delay.
