Nice little airport, enjoy flying into it. Nice big lobby with tons of books and magazines to read. Computer with internet access is great. Large TV, not sure if it works. Nice people have helped me, and I sleep on the couch while I await my passengers.

Flew into MPI after 5pm., the airport was closed. I tried repeatedly all day prior to arrival to get someone to answer the phone with no joy. I left the plane parked and came back two days later after repeatedly calling with no answer. Took off at 7:30am and never did see or speak with anyone attending the airport. Fuel was self-serve and cheapest around, runway in great shape, airport is close to town. Enterprise will deliver a car for $44/day and a $40 delivery fee with a two-day minimum.

Flew in for a trip to Yosemite. What a great place to fly to. Staff was very friendly, fuel was cheap. I highly recommend landing here. There is only one taxi service in town, which is 3 miles from the airport. Don't walk. George, you are a nice person to do business with. He gave us a ride to the Butterfly wall (visitor center), where we bought bus tickets for the round trip to Yosemite. Just call him before you need his service. I recommend calling a few days before plan on flying in.

This airport in the middle of nowhere has consistently lower avgas prices than surrounding airports. The self-service fuel island is convenient and easy to use. The single restroom is accessible from the office or the outside when the office is closed. There is a deck with chairs and table and a picnic table in the grass. The Airport Diner is a 20-minute walk away to the east. It is a local bar, which serves burgers. The airport is well maintained with adequate transient parking. Except we noted that the area was being used by a fire-fighting helicopter and its fuel tanker truck when we landed. The runway slopes up to the west so with a 4400-foot density altitude and full fuel in our Piper Warrior we elected to depart downhill with a slight tailwind to the east. There is a VERY large hill immediately north of the airport, which blocks the AWOS signal and line-of-sight with the runway. We circle to the west to enter a left downwind for Rwy 26.

Stopped by for gas on my way to the LA area. Cheap gas (less than $4/gallon). Decent self-serve pumps and nice bathroom facilities that are open 24 hrs/day. Only stayed long enough to get some gas and use the restroom.

We flew in for lunch at the Airport Bar & Grill on 6/3/07. The bar is about a 1/4-mile walk to the southwest of the airport along the main road. Avgas was $3.97 for self-serve. Friendly FBO staff. A good $100 hamburger stop.

Flew in for Memorial Day weekend. Rental car was waiting. Lady at desk was very friendly and helpful with maps of the area. 45 min drive into Yosemite. No line service and self-serve fuel, but you get what you pay for! … No tie-down fees. Nice clean facilities including online services. As mentioned below, the runway slopes noticeably, made for an exciting lift off up hill into the wind in a max weight Mooney :) Think I might go down hill with the wind next time.

Flew in for lunch at the Airport Bar and Grill on March 15. Took a collapsible bike which I appreciated because the 1/4 mile is hilly and in full sun. Lots of character at the place where the stress is on Bar. Pool and dart players could have a blast. I enjoyed the chili.

Stopped here overnight on March 5th. Self-serve gas worked fine, I ordered a car with Enterprise before arriving and it was waiting for us when we go there. On return we just left the car at the airport and the rental people come and collect it - a wonderful service. Drive into Yosemite is wonderful, we stayed in the Mariposa Lodge in Mariposa and had dinner at the Red Fox - both were very good. Hope to visit again sometime.
