A friend and I flew into McPherson today for a $100 hamburger. The restaurant is actually located in Canton, Kansas, which is approximately 15 miles east of McPherson on US 56. It is a lot like an old-fashioned soda shop. The name is Sodas & Suds. I highly recommend this place! The prices are very reasonable. GREAT food! GREAT people!

Nice runway and airport. Arrived on a Saturday after the FBO had closed (around 1pm local time), and could not find a restroom. Toured the hangars and everything was locked up tight. No other pilots around to ask. Walked across the street, the fishing store refused to let me use theirs. They helpfully suggested there was a gas station about 2mi up the road that "might" let me use theirs. Luckily there is a lot of grass on the airport. :/ The fuel meter did not reset and started at 36.0 for me, but it billed me correctly.

A friend and I flew through MPR on our way to Bolivar, Mo (M17). We flew in a 0100, so there wasn't anyone there to help us. But the next day, the guy working the front desk, Nathan Hawkinson, met us there and help us fuel our plane and got us some maps. KMPR will definitely be a fuel stop from now on if I'm out there. Runways are in excellent condition and the people there are great. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Arrived on a late winter day where the winds were blowing at 20-29 kts. Straight across the paved runway. Heard another pilot using the crosswind grass runway and, after he confirmed the condition of the runway, elected to land a Cherokee with wheel pants on it. Good idea! Possibly the smoothest grass runway I've ever used! Also concur with previous commenters. Mike the airport manager met me at the fuel pumps ($.60-$1.00 less than most other area airports) and offered to pump the fuel. Nice facilities inside: PC with Internet, clean bathrooms, etc.
