Excellent small town type airport. Friendly staff, good transit parking. Fuel (100LL) priced a little high, but reasonable. Found use of "Uber" excellent to provide ground transportation. Very close to Beaches and Pier. Will keep coming back.

We based our Bonanza there back in 2010 while we lived up in Laguna Beach, and hadn't been back since. Still a wonderful little airport with VERY helpful and VERY friendly guys Rick and Dennis on hand. Non-stop skydiving was actively in progress from the field. Their pilot gave me a nice friendly wave, and our IFR arrival and departure blended right in with their activity. Biggest challenge was the Enterprise car rental that took almost an hour after our call for an airport pick up, even though we hit our noon Thursday arrival and reservation time almost exactly, and the Enterprise office is virtually across the street. We had dinner at the nearby Oceanside harbor and although a bit pricey, the Jolly Roger was also terrific. Also new for me was seeing the nice remembrance of local Tuskegee Airman Bob Maxwell posted in the FBO.

Had to divert here when a disabled jet closed the runway at Palomar. Friendly, helpful staff at the City run FBO. Stayed five nights for $25 bucks versus the $60 I was going to pay at Palomar. Reasonable self-serve gas. Pay attention to the special departure and arrival procedures and don't stray into MCAS Pendleton's airspace to the north.

2nd overnight on our U.S. 4 corners flight in my RV. Good people and a very nice airport. Will definitely be back. Be a good neighbor and fly the noise abatement procedure. Not enough airports already in SoCal, lets not lose this gem.

+1 on the free loaner bikes. They even set one up with a surf rack so I could take my board to the beach. I would have gone to Carlsbad and rented a car if not for the the bike. Thanks!
