Flew into Ocean City last week, great experience. Front desk staff was very friendly and offered to drive my father and I to the local golf course. We called after our round and picked us up as well! We will definitely be back!

Great experience flying to OXB on 5/18 for a day trip. Rented a car for the day from Express Rental, they were very helpful including 2 carseats for the young children. About a 10 minute drive to Assateague state park with great beaches, concession stand, and wild horses. Drove back to town for lunch, returned the car, and we were on our way. We were impressed at how GA- and family- friendly the airport staff was!

From Vinnie Pugliese on 23-Mar-2008
Excellent experience flying into OXB--3/21-23. Fuel prices as advertised and with the SS pump busy OXB line folks filled our aircraft at the SS price! Wow, no other FBO has ever done that before. Rental cars available through Enterprise or Express.

I fly down to OXB at least a couple of times a year for the afternoon, usually spur-of-the-moment, to walk the boardwalk and get me some Thrasher's Fries & Fisher's Corn. Joy and the others at the desk always seem friendly and happy to see me, but they really did a nice job yesterday. In the FBO after another impromptu flight down, they informed me that the bridge to the downtown area was being replaced and a cab ride (usually around $12) would be prohibitively expensive the long way around. They quickly organized a rental car for me and within a few minutes, we were on our way with detailed detour directions and after-hours return instructions. Not much open on the boards this time of year, but we don't mind so much; Boardwalk Joe's warmed us up with some tasty gyros and homemade stromboli. Stop by this friendly little eatery at 4th St. If you get a chance; they were really nice as well. Thanks for a great little afternoon vacation from winter, OC and OXB!

From Simon Hendershot on 27-Oct-2007
My own recent experience with OXB is that it's seems to have a lot of rocks, gravel and shells on the runways, and a confusing cluster of taxiway lines on the new ramp, but fairly little friendliness to the small GA-type pilots. Maybe this is to be expected at a resort in the off-season... I don't know.

From George Goodrow on 07-Sep-2007
AirNav users. Please be advised that the 24-hour self-fueler for AVGAS at OXB is again "open" effective 9-7-07. Thanks for your patience during the re-construction of the ramp.

From George Goodrow on 13-Aug-2007
AirNav readers. Please be aware that effective 8-13-07, the 24-hour self-fueler for AVGAS is out of service. This is due to the on-going construction on the ramp at OXB. It should be available again on or about 9-1-07. If you need after hours fuel, please call 410-213-2471 in advance. Thanks.

THE TERMINAL RAMP IS OPEN! We arrived Saturday Aug 11th in the morning and the recently paved ramp was a busy place. As always great service on the ramp and in the office. Our Archer II was fueled and ready to go Sunday for our late afternoon departure. You know you visit there often when the folks working the desk remember you from your previous weekend visit. THANKS!! N28679

I flew into OXB earlier this summer, in a buddy's plane. We were there mid-week for a "playing hooky" $100 hamburger on the boardwalk. While we were waiting for a cab, the strangest thing happened. We heard screaming and yelling from the second floor of their terminal building. Someone was yelling "This is MY f__king airport, and I'll run it anyway I f__king see fit!". We're not sure who it was, but it was quite disturbing. I'm only a student, so I hope this isn't a common occurrence at little airports.

From Richard Vockroth on 28-Jul-2007
We've been visiting OXB at least once yearly for some time now, and have always enjoyed the fine service and friendliness of both the terminal staff and Don who operates Express Rent-A-Car. The current ramp construction constitutes a minor inconvenience, but they provide transportation to and from the terminal via golf cart. Can't understand the (few) negative comments, as we've always had good experiences there even in November. Taxi fares are posted on the fence on the west side of the terminal, but we've always rented a car.

From Bruce Payne on 28-Jun-2007
Easy common-traffic airport. I have family that lives north of Ocean City, so I have been a regular customer for years. This past weekend seemed to be the busiest I have seen the ramp, considering the construction, however there were plenty of tie-downs available north of the SS pump. Self serve fuel is no problem to anyone familiar with conventional credit card swipe machine, and the price is inexpensive (relatively speaking, of course), considering OXB is a "beach/resort airport", and that OXB operating overhead/expenses are higher than neighboring Cambridge or Ridgley.

From Mary & Gary N28679 on 22-Jun-2007
Yes, ongoing construction at the terminal ramp. OXB provided a golf cart shuttle from the parking area, out near the Hangars, back to the terminal. GREAT SERVICE! VERY FRIENDLY people. $11 cab rides to the beach this go round and as always a great time on the boards.

From George Goodrow on 07-Jun-2007
All AirNav readers. Please be aware that there is a major construction project on-going at OXB on the ramp. Parking will be somewhat limited during this reconstruction period.

From Ralph Smith on 30-Apr-2007
I have flown in and out of KOXB for the past 30 years and believe it is one of the most convenient and pilot friendly FBO's in the Mid Atlantic coastal region. When considering any flying destination, a visit to AirNav and a call ahead to the field/FBO, usually eliminates most of the concerns voiced in earlier comments regarding transportation, accommodations, unusual requests, etc. The staff there today has always been responsive to my requests, courteous to my passengers and me and demonstrated a willingness to go beyond the call of duty when asked. Great fuel prices, a beautiful resort town down the street, and the best seafood anywhere. Don't pass up this gem.

From Gary Mascelli on 29-Apr-2007
We flew into OXB Saturday, April 21st to take advantage of the great weekend weather. The staff at OXB was great to deal with. Ace taxi was ready and waiting out front of the terminal, so the four of us piled in and $12 later we were walking the boards. The driver gave us his card for a return trip call and we met just off the boardwalk. Again good service. N28679

From Scott C Bartley on 14-Apr-2007
On 4/12/07, I flew into OXB at 17:15. I was quite concerned based on the previous posts. It was off-season and I was coming in after hours. My fears were running high. However, the FBO was open and waiting. Although the Xpress Car Rental was closed, I called their 800 number and they still had my car and a way for me to get into it. My plane was filled and ready to go the next afternoon when I left. This was a great FBO stop. I am glad that I stopped here instead of SBY which would have giving me a 30 minute drive. Maybe my experience was good because I had called ahead (about a week before hand) and I was on an IFR plan. However, I will be very happy to stop here the next time I go to Ocean City.

From David Roth on 28-Jan-2007
After reading a few of the recent comments here, I had to add my own thoughts. I fly into OXB regularly. More so in the summer of course. I agree that the mood in the past few years has become less then helpful. However, I must point out that during last summer, they had some incredible people there. Although new employees, they were helpful, courteous, well spoken, AND they knew aviation! (One in particular even watched over my daughter when I was injured). It was delightful to stop there. However, as in recent years, after the season is over, these good people leave and then we are left with the usual (mostly) miserable folks. That would be OK, but recent years have shown that those good people from summer don't come back. What a shame, as this past years crew had some exceptional people that I will miss. Makes you wonder what goes on behind the curtain. -Darlene Roth

Flew in to OXB yesterday and have to be honest, the service was just mediocre. Not at all how I remembered it. No line service to assist me with my CJ and once we got inside the whole airport was out of service. The staff was friendly, but there was really one lady running the whole operation. We used Ace Taxi and the fair was 10 bucks just to literally go one block down the road. What I remembered as a wonderful beach town is now slowly deteriorating. Will give it one more try when the summer rolls around, if there is no improvement, I guess I'll need to find another nice beach spot.

From Derrick Rosenblume on 26-Dec-2006
I have to agree with B Beck. I've also been flying into OXB for years. Friendly staff, as usual. Great fuel prices! Unfortunately, the last several years the airport "mood" seems kinda' depressing. The airport management has removed the lounge TV and banned food from the first floor of the building. It does seem like management is trying to chase away general aviation. The whole thing struck me as kinda' strange compared to the average GA airport. I guess this is another example of inexperienced management trying to ruin a perfectly fine general aviation airport.

I have been flying into Ocean City, MD for the past twelve years. The comment below caused me to add my own comment. Apparently, the pilot below had a bad experience but in all the years I have flown in, I have always enjoyed the highest levels of service from the staff. Fuel is always among the lowest prices in the northeast. If you fly in and need a cab, call Alvin at Ace Taxi. He is the best. He is usually at the airport. The rental cars at the airport are extremely convenient and reasonably priced. This airport, in my opinion, could not be more GA friendly.

From B Beck on 04-Dec-2006
OXB has made it clear they do NOT want general aviation visitors-- 168.00 for fuel, 18.00 taxi into town and 16.00 back THEN they insisted on a 5.00 ramp fee for three hours parking

From Wade Walton on 15-Sep-2006
OXB staff is always friendly and helpful -- always a nice destination for a day trip, airport in great condition. On the other hand, based on recommendations below, called Dave's taxi, which said they'd pick us up in 10 minutes, but then never showed up! After waiting for 40 minutes, we had a much better experience from Clarence of Sunset Taxi, who provided us with some previous fare amounts so we could make our decision, so I recommend Clarence.

From James Cox on 08-Sep-2006
Top-notch service. People went out of their way to help us. We bought $500 of fuel even though we didn't really need it, just to say thanks. Kids in the pilot lounge were a bit noisy however.

From Tim Patterson on 15-Aug-2006
A quick day trip with 7 in our party to Ocean City was a pleasure. A lineman greeted us with a hand held radio to direct us to parking. Courtesy golf cart to terminal and we were in a cab and on the beach in 15 minutes. $13.80 plus extra passenger charge. And tip brought the total to $18.00. Didn't need fuel this trip but $ 4.20 SS was about the going price. Every staff member person was eager to please!

From Len Krautheim on 14-Aug-2006
Always-friendly service from all at OXB. Great facility!!

From Victor Vogel on 26-Jun-2006
Spectacular view of the ocean on approach to Runway 32. Very quick turn around with fuel from line service at reasonable prices. Friendly, courteous people. Nice pilot lounge and flight planning room. Fast IFR clearance via remote outlet with Patuxent River Approach.

From Rick Sorrell on 19-Jun-2006
Stopped in here on my way back down to Florida. Self-serve pump was functional but no receipts. Was unsure what I paid per gallon but it was $205.10 for somewhere between 50 to 60 gallons of fuel which is a range of anywhere from $3.51 to $4.10. Other than that it was a good intermediate stop. I believe AirNav was reporting approximately $3.50 within 30 days of my trip there.

From Michael Hull on 04-Jun-2006
The self-service pump is working again according to the good folks at OXB!

From Dennis B. Boykin IV on 28-May-2006
Call Dave's Taxi at (410) 250-2400 upon landing. As others have noted, they're courteous, prompt, and only charged us $7 one way for a van full of people. Call them and they'll pick you up. Airport charges $5 to park all day, friendly staff, nice facility. Rental cars available - not worth it for a day trip. Make sure you hit the boardwalk, try Thrasher's Fries (the southernmost one, down by the amusement park) and Kohr's Frozen Custard. The city runs a tram up and down the boardwalk - $3 per person. The Life Saving Service Museum is pretty interesting, also - again, $3 per head. Good day's outing - good fun.

Self service pump is bagged and non-functional. Unknown (to me) when/if self service will be restored.

Went to Ocean City Labor Day weekend. Every crooked cab driver for NYC now works in OXB. Paid 21.50 to go 3 miles. I asked the cab driver how much, said $10 but neglected to mention extras. Car rental guy at the airport tried to strong arm me into renting from him by telling me Enterprise was not allowed to pick us up. He was lying.

From Gary Eakin on 22-Aug-2005
Flew in today for a day at the beach with my wife. Thanks to Rick's comments below, I called "Dave's Taxi" for a ride to 2nd street. Cost $8. Landing fee was $5. Runway 32 approach is spectacular as you turn base over the ocean and short final over the beach. Great trip.

From Don Rumberger on 20-Aug-2005
We blew a main tire after touchdown at OXB, and figured our beach day was ruined. The FBO folks were out there in no time to help, and treated us like family. I was very impressed. They had a mechanic on duty on Saturday, and our repair was waiting for us when we returned that evening. I'd go back any time - a no brainer.

From Rick Stump on 03-Aug-2005
One suggestion when using the taxis, check the door for the rates they are often different. Also, the last time I checked the shuttle is still running but only twice a day. The bus driver said they rarely get any passengers at the airport. You may want to check with the shuttle services.
