Visited Payson on Wed. Apr. 11 about noon en route to see a friend staying at the Rim Nursing Home. No one evident on the transient ramp but I finally found a couple men working under a fuel truck. One of them agreed (reluctantly, it seemed) to bring their other truck around to fuel my C-210. Fuel price is pretty reasonable for these days ($4.09) especially since it was not Self-Serve. No crew car available, but the fueler/FBO mgr was willing to dial the local taxi service number for us. Adequate handling and inexpensive fuel, but I certainly came away with the feeling that they could care less if we stopped by or not. C'est la vie, I reckon...

Wonderful stop half way between El Paso and Las Vegas. Quick and courteous fill up, with a great breakfast at Crosswinds, which was incredibly crowded with locals as well as transient pilots. Outstanding airport!

Pleasant as always. Crosswinds food and service well worth the trip. The FBO closes @ 1700 on Saturday, call ahead and check.

What a wonderful place to land! Beautiful scenery and very nice people. The FBO office is small but the guy who runs it was wonderful. If you've got some time, ask him about any of the local activities and he can be most helpful. The restaurant had great hamburgers and was crowded on Sunday but the staff made us feel welcome and we were seated in short order. We didn't buy fuel because we just came in from Las Vegas but the prices seem very reasonable. All in all a great experience. We will be back.

Fuel price right on, and $3/night tie-down fee is waived with the purchase of fuel. They even arranged a ride into town with a local pilot for us.
