Make it a point to stop. I will go out of my way next time to stop here. What flying should be. Great airport, great town. I travel coast to coast and border to border this is one of, if not the best place I have ever been. Great runways, ramp, and people. Ran by real airplane people. Thanks.

If you are anywhere within 100 miles of Pecos, land here and you'll be glad you did. I landed here, not needing a lot of fuel but just a dab to top the tanks in case of bad weather popping up on my route. I was given a "Royal Treatment & Welcome" as if I was gassing up a DC-3. They offered me treats, cookies, salsa, bottled water. I took three cookies only (feeling guilty) and bid them a farewell. I'll be back.

Rather late comment.... But came through PEQ (from SAT) on 3 Jul enroute to BUR. I had heard of the great service and amazing burritos so I decided to give it a try. The service was incredible and the burritos hit the spot. Got a flight coming up in the next few days that will take me past PEQ again.... Looking forward to my next visit.

You have got to try this FBO! It combines the best of small town aviation, west Texas friendliness, good facilities, and fast, professional service. There are plenty of decent FBOs but this one will be on your top ten list.

Wow! -- Pecos is a food and fuel stop that everyone should know about. Dennis was as cordial and genuine as they come. The BBQ brisket burrito he offered was delicious. There is a coffee cup to make contributions to the American Cancer Society located at the back of the table for plates and sauces -- I encourage EVERYONE to consider making a donation in appreciation for the awesome service and hospitality the Blanchard's offer.

A great stop for fuel on my way from Dallas to Tucson. The burrito was great as was the fuel price. I even made a fuel stop on my return flight although I did not need the fuel.

We landed at Pecos to refuel and were surprised with the free hot burritos and soft drinks, friendly Labrador Retrievers, and high efficiency of Dennis and Isabelle Blanchard in taking care of everyone. This included a Navy T-34 trainer out of Corpus Christi, TX with female cadet trainee and male officer instructor, and an Army Blackhawk helicopter with four crewmen. The 100LL avgas was one of the lowest priced we had seen anywhere in our transcontinental flight.

Came in late one day. Staff was great. Cookies, airport dogs, courtesy car overnight, good fuel prices. If you're going across S TX this is a great place to stop. Crossing runways in case of strange winds.

A terrific stop on way home to NY from CA. Friendly and accommodating, helpful w/ local knowledge, and genuinely concerned that our stop in Pecos should be a high point in our trip. Called in on Unicom (45 miles out from 13.5K) as dark was falling fast. Was answered immediately and was told they’d be open when we arrived. Was offered a handshake, help w/ bags, tiedown assistance, and a courtesy car before I could say 'thank you'. Quick service w/ a smile, good price for fuel, a real pleasure. These folks know how to make weary travelers feel welcome and wanted. Add me to the list of Pecos Air Center fans. ---

On June 25th, I was returning in my Piper J3 Cub from the "Sentimental Journey to Lock Haven" to my home in San Diego when I stopped for the night at Pecos, Texas. I needed fuel and a courtesy car. I was feeling very poorly and wasn't sure that I would be able to fly the following day. I asked the owner of Pecos Air Center, Mr. Dennis Blanchard if it was possible to keep the car for another day if I didn't feel better in the morning. He said that it wouldn't be a problem and gave me his card and told me to call him if I needed a doctor or any other help. The next morning, I felt better and when I returned to the field, Dennis said that his wife has asked what my room number was. She wanted to make sure that I was all right. Another instance of the concern for strangers on small airports. The people on this airport have always treated me very well. I recommend it to anyone passing that way. Stopped en-route from Tucson to Lakeland for Sun N Fun 08 promoting website for the Air National Guard. I was fueled and ready to go before I could get my foot inside the FBO door. Very nice folks and free water/soda and a fresh homemade burrito. Their flight planning area had everything I needed to check the weather. I'll stop there again.

Stopped here in my Baron. Good fuel stop. If you're looking for cheap gas, eat one of the burritos.

From Chad Bartee on 09-Mar-2008
Great place, great people. If you are going diving at Balmorhea State Park, or going deep into Big Bend, Pecos is a great place to fly into, great crew cars, and as always free food and drinks!

What a great stop! This is the kind of old-fashioned FBO that keeps flying a pleasure. The A+ service and hospitality can't be beat. Plus, the free burrito, chips and salsa, and soda really hit the spot. Thanks!

Stopped on 28 Nov 2007 for fuel and an overnight. Very courteous and friendly. Jim arranged for a motel and offered the airport car. 100LL was $4.40. Recommended and would stop again.

Really good service. Previous stop at night in light rain we were given help with tie downs and a ride to a local motel with an offer to take us to restaurants and morning pick up. So we stopped again for a quick turn and were not disappointed. Service still great.

I lost a Mag on my Cessna 150 en route to Arizona and had to keep the airplane at Pecos. Everyone on staff was extremely helpful and made a tough situation seem not so bad. They provided all kinds of help and advice to get back in the air. I will definitely give them my business in the future.

Pecos is a great gas stop. We had our second visit on Friday, May 25, and just with the first visit, it was superb. Gas prices were very reasonable compared to the big city, we were given quick turn service without asking, our golden retriever was offered water, food and lots of pet treats, and our kids were given Pecos sheriff's badges. We look forward to our next visit.

From Keith Butler on 02-May-2007
We often fly from Arizona to Eastern Texas and stop at Pecos for fuel. Prices are best around. Hospitality is outstanding. One of the friendliest FBO's around. And all of this 24/7.

From Jason Helton on 30-Apr-2007
Stuck here for weather. Great hospitality, lots of help, great food and info on the area. Jim's a hoot and kept us entertained. Stop here if you ever get the chance.
