From Len Buckel on 30-Jun-2008
On June 25th, I was returning in my Piper J3 Cub from the "Sentimental Journey to Lock Haven" to my home in San Diego when I stopped for the night at Pecos, Texas. I needed fuel and a courtesy car. I was feeling very poorly and wasn't sure that I would be able to fly the following day. I asked the owner of Pecos Air Center, Mr. Dennis Blanchard if it was possible to keep the car for another day if I didn't feel better in the morning. He said that it wouldn't be a problem and gave me his card and told me to call him if I needed a doctor or any other help. The next morning, I felt better and when I returned to the field, Dennis said that his wife has asked what my room number was. She wanted to make sure that I was all right. Another instance of the concern for strangers on small airports. The people on this airport have always treated me very well. I recommend it to anyone passing that way. Passed thru on April 18, 2008 flying a Starduster Too from MS to Ca. What can I say-GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!! Last time I was in Pecos was 10 years ago. Still the same great service regardless of any prices they charge!!!

Stopped en-route from Tucson to Lakeland for Sun N Fun 08 promoting website for the Air National Guard. I was fueled and ready to go before I could get my foot inside the FBO door. Very nice folks and free water/soda and a fresh homemade burrito. Their flight planning area had everything I needed to check the weather. I'll stop there again.

Stopped here in my Baron. Good fuel stop. If you're looking for cheap gas, eat one of the burritos.

From Chad Bartee on 09-Mar-2008
Great place, great people. If you are going diving at Balmorhea State Park, or going deep into Big Bend, Pecos is a great place to fly into, great crew cars, and as always free food and drinks!

What a great stop! This is the kind of old-fashioned FBO that keeps flying a pleasure. The A+ service and hospitality can't be beat. Plus, the free burrito, chips and salsa, and soda really hit the spot. Thanks!

Stopped on 28 Nov 2007 for fuel and an overnight. Very courteous and friendly. Jim arranged for a motel and offered the airport car. 100LL was $4.40. Recommended and would stop again.

From Bob Wall on 11-Oct-2007
Really good service. Previous stop at night in light rain we were given help with tie downs and a ride to a local motel with an offer to take us to restaurants and morning pick up. So we stopped again for a quick turn and were not disappointed. Service still great.

I lost a Mag on my Cessna 150 en route to Arizona and had to keep the airplane at Pecos. Everyone on staff was extremely helpful and made a tough situation seem not so bad. They provided all kinds of help and advice to get back in the air. I will definitely give them my business in the future.

Pecos is a great gas stop. We had our second visit on Friday, May 25, and just with the first visit, it was superb. Gas prices were very reasonable compared to the big city, we were given quick turn service without asking, our golden retriever was offered water, food and lots of pet treats, and our kids were given Pecos sheriff's badges. We look forward to our next visit.

From Keith Butler on 02-May-2007
We often fly from Arizona to Eastern Texas and stop at Pecos for fuel. Prices are best around. Hospitality is outstanding. One of the friendliest FBO's around. And all of this 24/7.

From Jason Helton on 30-Apr-2007
Stuck here for weather. Great hospitality, lots of help, great food and info on the area. Jim's a hoot and kept us entertained. Stop here if you ever get the chance.

Landed both ways in between Phoenix and Corpus.... GREAT people and free drinks and burritos.... If you are in the area I highly recommend Pecos!

From Peter Brester on 16-Nov-2006
Excellent place to stop. Last week I stopped there while headed west and a few days later stopped on the way back. FAST service (they almost had the fuel in the plane before the prop stopped) and nice folks. The free burrito and soda also saved some time. When I go in that direction in the future, this will be a fuel stop. BTW their fuel price is good - I paid just $3.37/gal.

From Bob Wall on 24-Oct-2006
Called in mid afternoon to check about service available when arriving about dark and was assured we would be furnished transport to the motel. Landed about dark in a light rain and was met by an extremely nice lady who couldn't do enough for us--took us to the motel and offered transport both ways to restaurants and a pick up in the morning. Fuel service in the AM was helpful and efficient. Good stop.

From Buck Kendrick, Los Altos, CA on 29-Sep-2006
We stopped twice within a week and found great service. On the return back West we accepted the offer of the burrito which comes from a local restaurant and salsa was also provided. What a breakfast treat. My disposition (and empty stomach) immediately improved! Will be on my list for another stop on the next trip East.

KPEQ Pecos, TX. The FBO had free chips and salsa, cookies, ice cream, soft drinks, and bottled water. The hotel was only a quarter mile away, but the FBO gave me a courtesy car overnight in case I wanted to drive elsewhere to eat.

From Lou Evans on 24-Jul-2006
Outstanding little FBO. Jim Breese is as nice as they get. Free sodas and ice cream sure do make for a nice arrival treat during the summer months. Available courtesy car really helps. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

From Maurice Gunderson on 06-Jun-2006
I was descending to land at a nearby field for a fuel stop. Another pilot on center frequency heard my plan and recommended that I try Pecos for the delicious complimentary burritos. The people were very friendly and the burritos were great. What a nice find.

From Al Pike on 24-Apr-2006
Stopped by Pecos for the first time a couple days ago for a Jet A top-up enroute from FL to CA in an experimental Comp Air Turbine. Now I plan on making this a regular stop in the future. Prompt, friendly service complete with free delicious beef-brisket burritos, free soda, free ice cream (donations to Cancer Society accepted). Weather available via cable internet. Good runways, clean facilities. Well done, folks! Hope to see you again soon. Pecos = :>

From David L. Jones on 22-Feb-2006
Stopped and stayed overnight on 2-21-2006. They gave us a courtesy car and provided lodging and eating suggestions. Great service and good price on Jet-A. Thanks.

From John Baley on 05-Feb-2006
Jan 22, 2006 we arrived after dark to a well-lit runway. We got the progressive taxi instructions we needed from Unicom to find the tie down area in a very dark airport. Friendly person let us use the courtesy car to stay at the Swiss Clock Inn. Rooms were basic but clean, quiet and comfortable with free Internet. Nice breakfast buffet included in $59/room price.

Very nice, quick service, nice operation. Thank you.

From Mark Bell on 27-Dec-2005
My wife and I stopped on our way to Arizona on 12/24. The FBO was open so we could use the facilities and we were greeted promptly when we called and asked to get fuel. Nice facilities and prompt service. We were even offered soft drinks out of their fridge!

From Chris Kleinhenz on 10-Nov-2005
Great place. Stopped in for some cheap gas and was greated friendly, filled up quick, had a hot burrito (delicious) waiting for me when I got in the office (free and unasked for), great salsa, soft drinks, flight planning, service, etc. It's these little places that make flying so great. Highly recommend.

From Kate Duncan on 08-Nov-2005
We were based out of Pecos for several weeks in Oct-Nov. Dennis, Isabel, and Jim always ensured our bellies were full (great burritos and ice cream sandwiches!) and treated us like family. Fuelling was prompt and efficient every day. Clean, comfortable facilities. Best airport yet!

From Shay Wise on 23-Sep-2005
