I have averaged two stops a week for more than a year at PGV and have only good things to say. The FBO is located in the same building as the airline terminal which is unusual for most airports, but it is marked on the airport diagram. Good people, good service.

Only thing I can say is GA avoid at all cost! This is a small airport wanting to pretend it's big by completely ignoring anything that's not a jet. Landed July 20, 2008 after just making it out of a tropical storm to get gas in my 172. I was able to get an airport advisory, but as soon as I got on the ground no one would respond. I even resorted to calling them on my cell and was hung up on each time I was transferred to the appropriate department. After walking around the only people I found were at a flight school or mowing the grass, all unable to use the fuel truck. I ended up having to leave for another airport with only 8.5 gal in a plane that drinks 11/h due to their incompetence.

Flew into PGV today. Line men were there to help with parking, tie down and luggage. I have flown in here before and I normally find the service good. I did make a reservation for an Enterprise car and the counter was closed at noon for lunch, not a big problem I just moved down the counter line to Budget and they were able to give me a car. I will be back to PGV again. As far as the cigarette smell...Its North Carolina...Tobacco country. When I walked in I really did not notice it, however in the rental car I did and at the hotel too...I am not a smoker but it is not a game breaker for me.

The facility is at PGV is not very clean and smells of smoke. The linesmen are very nice and they took my fuel order right away. The furniture in the pilots' lounge is not in the best shape with a small television. There is a restaurant attached to the terminal building with good sandwiches. After leaving I did notice on my receipt a $20 ramp fee added on to my fuel purchase. After buying close to $250 in fuel I would hope that it would help offset the ramp fee but here it does not. I would not recommend this airport as a fuel stop. Prices are average but the ramp fee is ridiculous.

I flew to Greenville to see a client of mine and the facilities were great. I didn't need fuel so I cannot comment on the service. However, it was close to lunch and I noticed a menu on the pilot's lounge door for a grill on the field. When I inquired about the grill I was told it closed at noon for about an hour or so for the owner's lunch!

My experience was similar to Brandon's. Took a Seminole down there thru some brutal weather to see a friend, they answered quickly over Unicom when I asked where to park, but once I got into the terminal, there was no one at the counter, only a woman at a computer behind a sliding window, (I am guessing an accounting person?) who was on the phone, looked up at me, and then continued her conversation. I flagged down a line service person that walked in, to fuel me, and then they left my credit card and receipt on the counter. To make my experience there even better, they were testing the (ear piercing) fire alarm system (I had a headache the rest of the day from it), and no one could figure out who could turn it off, or when it would end. I won't go back here unless I absolutely have to.
