$94.00/hr for a 172N with a Garmin 430 is actually a good deal. I don't know if you can find something around this area for a better price. Try paying $125/ hr for a warrior with a Garmin 430 over in KELN, that’s a bad deal.

Bought a 1950 Bonanza in November 2004 and had Curt do the pre-buy inspection. He is very attentive to details and has a lot of experience with vintage Bonanzas. We have done a fair amount of modernization and restoration and the work by Curt has been flawless. He is very fair and does not waste your money. Describe a problem and he usually has the right troubleshooting answer. Did my instrument training at Spanaflight and appreciate their commitment to hiring and retaining only the best instructors. Got my money's worth.

If you're looking for good, knowledgeable, and attentive flight instructors... SpanaFlight is the place to go. It is the epitome of small town kindness and attitude. Fuel prices are also usually reasonable. The only complaints are the steep rental prices and administration. It's $94.00 per hour to rent a 172N with a Garmin 430. The administration causes frustration. Neal is a "no joke" co-owner who manages the finances there. When he's around I've felt the small town attitude disappear. Frank is the other owner, and despite being a pilot, is a bit hidden. Unfortunately he only comes around for instructor meetings and in my opinion isn't the most knowledgeable pilot. Thus the job goes to the flight instructors, who sometimes are not credited for their efforts. If all else fails, Sharon is an amazing receptionist full of good humor to brighten any IMC day! - Safe Flying -

I was given one of Spanaflight's Gift Certificates for Christmas last year, and finally got the chance to go up and beat the weather. I took my instruction from Eric who, despite his size, folded himself up into a
