Pittsfield Penstone Municipal Airport
The Pittsfield Penstone Airport continues to be a vital link to the "land between the rivers" for businesses and transients alike. Located between the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers in Pike County, the airport is situated in close proximity to the Central Illinois Expressway, a railroad, Lake Pittsfield, the City of Pittsfield Industrial Park, and Pittsfield itself. Tourism and agriculture are the main industries in the area. Trophy deer hunting and the numerous outfitters have contributed greatly to the increased utilization of the airport. Within the last three years, the runway has been extended to 4000 feet and an AWOS has been commissioned. Recently, the instrument approaches were updated to reflect these changes. A variety of aircraft use the airport on a regular basis including numerous light twins, turboprops, and corporate jets. Competitive fuel prices and the availability of rental cars add to the appeal of this facility. It is my goal to attract additional businesses to the airport, industrial park, and the community at large. I would encourage you to visit the many websites available covering our community and then plan a visit.

Stopped on way to Oshkosh a week and half back. Great fuel stop. No one was around, but the office is opened by CTAF, and they hide the courtesy car key avail for folks to drive into town and grab a bite. Low prices, and no hassle - good combo.

Stopped for fuel, July 11. Amazingly low price! It's SS and works well. Thank you! "Office" does have computer & clean restrooms. Doesn't seem to be a lot of activity here, but would definitely stop again, if in the area.

7:30pm on a Saturday, and no welcoming committee...Just totally deserted. But, there was the pump, and the cheapest fuel I've seen in weeks. I was thrilled by that alone, especially after paying $6USD in Montreal. Pretty setting, well tended to. I liked that they had the fuel price on the AWOS. Good advertising. Wish everyone did that.

Stopped at Pittsfield for fuel on the way from Fort Worth to Chicago. John (airport manager) was very friendly and showed us the way to the courtesy car. He gave us restaurant ideas and made us feel at home. After borrowing his computer to check the weather, we were on our way. Great stop and great fuel prices - Thanks John!

Nice little airport. Manager called me back after I left a message about courtesy car. He had it ready for us to attend a family member's funeral. He came in from mowing to check on us when we arrived and to tell us where we could change clothes. Very gracious and helpful...I had my own tie down ropes so no problem.... Good place to stop for fuel or visit.

Good inexpensive fuel with 24 hr self service. Was pretty dead when I arrived on a Sunday afternoon. I had called to verify the fuel price in advance and left a message, they called me back later in the day.
