We fly in and out of RBL a few times per month. Unfortunately, our arrival time is usually after 4pm and there is no place to escape the heat. Our stopovers are usually a couple of hours and the heat can still be in the 90's in the summer months. Wish there was a place to escape the heat.

Stopped July 30. Self Serve out of order. Note saying they would be there 7 am. Got there 7 am next day, no one there. Called. They guy who was working that day doesn't come in till 8. All that for the highest fuel in the area. Suggest someplace else for fuel!

Big failure as an FBO. I stopped during a late night ferry flight. We planned our stop based on the fact that they have a self-serve. (Redding doesn't). There was a hand written note about self-serve being inop. No NOTAMS no recording on the ASOS. Next time the fuel is inop, at least call the Flight Service to Notam it.

Stopped in on my way to the Arlington Fly-in (Seattle) in a 2 seat experimental. As mentioned, the fuel pumps are easy to get to and gas was cheaper than Redding ($5.89 vs $6.06) - no fillup key though. I had a short chat about homebuilts and flying up north with a friendly guy who was hanging out by the ramp and departed. I stopped in again on my way home from Arlington and this time a guy from the FBO came out to help me with the pump (and used a smart card so I could easily fill up) and rang me up inside the FBO with a fancy cell phone based credit card machine - cool! He mentioned the restaurant upstairs and I was hungry so I checked it out - and the portions were big and good food for a good price. I'll stop here again. Thanks.

I'll second the previous comment about fast service and a friendly atmosphere. The airport is easy to get into and provides a fast turn around. Transient parking is north of the fuel pumps and is well marked.

August 18, 2007. Self serve fuel, price as stated on AirNav. No one came out to help, but I didn't need any. Lots of transient parking near fuel. Good food at a reasonable price upstairs with great view of airport. I think they close at 2:00 pm.

Stopped for fuel and experienced good service. The lineman helped me use the self-serve pump, which accepted my AvFuel card. The restaurant in the terminal is reported to be worth a stop.

July 27, 2007 Dropped in (darn, it was HOT!) after the restaurant closed, but the pump was open, and although the meter said 40 gallons, I only got charged for 22.7 :-) - the local manager was right there to check out the pump after maintenance (He said last guy was charged $ .27), and apologized for the problem - ran in and did up a receipt for the difference, and we were on our way. This is a handy stop with a new runway extension - 'last stop for 150 miles' on your way north! MUCH easier in-and-out than Redding, and great food if you get there early enough, as I remember.
