I would like to extend this compliment to the excellent staff at AFS. I spoke with Tammy on Friday 9-11-09 about me flying up to Reading, PA. On Monday for a business meeting. Tammy offered to make all of the arrangements for us to stay for one day (rental car and a hotel). When we arrived our car was promptly brought out to our plane, we got assistance unloading our baggage and they treated us like royalty. They had been tracking our flight on FlightAware and were ready for us when we arrived. I would recommend AFS to anyone going to the Reading Regional Airport.

AFS is right "next door" to the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, which was the goal of our flight. Marshaled to parking, greeted with a smile, chocked and refueled in short order. The FBO (inside) looks literally brand new - large pilot lounge w/recliners & big TV, kitchen, quiet room, WSI, etc. Counter person and line guy friendly & helpful. If I had to spend a long day charter layover this place looks good! The museum should not be missed! And we were marshaled out of parking in the ol'182!

Very impressive operation. To begin, I had flown in on a holiday when the FBO was normally closed. Upon contacting them on short notice (2 days before) the CSR's were extremely helpful in arranging my arrival. They had a lineman and a CSR waiting for me when I got there. Very polite and helpful when asking questions about the area. I think that it is little gestures like this that will make me return in the future, regardless if the flight is business or for pleasure. Very highly recommended.

Visited 12/30/08 during a long day flying in my DA40. FBO is located right next to the air museum. It was late and museum was closed. Will visit next time. FBO has low fuel prices and very helpful staff. I look forward to returning. Airport is hard to taxi around at night with DA40's dim taxi light.

Thank you, American Flight Services! We flew two planes into RDG last night for dinner at Malibooz and were dismayed to find heavy frost on our wings when we returned to the ramp. Attempts to clean it off were futile because it redeposit as fast as we could clean it off. We begged the tower to find us an open hangar, and the folks at AFS were more than accommodating. They squeezed us one at a time into a corner of one of their hangars and provided lots of rags, elbow grease, and encouragement - all at no charge. Thanks so much for coming to our rescue!

Flew into RDG today to visit the MAAM, to show our pilot, who is from MI, what a treasure exists at RDG. When we taxiied in, there was not one soul around to suggest where to park, so we picked a spot, and went to MAAM. On our return, as we began to preflight and board the plane, two characters from American Flight Service came out, one of whom informed our guest that there would be a $10 parking fee, or he could buy fuel. We had just topped off in Cumberland (cheaper too!) I say this is entrapment, and left a sour taste in my mouth. This fellow was going on about "oh, we are going to excuse the parking fee THIS time, but not again". They should have come out to tell us not to park there when we arrived. Not very nice.

I have been flying from AFS for over a year, the staff is great, and the new owners are top notch, Chip and Adam are excellent instructors. I was there when the management change took effect. It was rough for a bit, but kudos to the new owners for squaring that away in short order. If there were one thing I would love to see, it would be on line scheduling for rentals and lessons.
