We were notified by the FBO at KRFD on 1 February 2024 that an SR22T had an unspecified issue. The problem reported was “rough running engine” and no other input. The aircraft was repositioned to our hangar the same day and we commenced troubleshooting. One of the issues was low compression on cylinder number four and it needed to be removed for overhaul, the fourth of six cylinders that required this far short of factory recommended overhaul interval. The cylinder was sent out for overhaul and returned to 16 February. The only gap in labor we had was while we were waiting for the cylinder to be returned from the overhaul shop. As we inspected all of the other cylinders, it became obvious that this engine was subject to improper mixture leaning. That required us to conduct further inspections. Our billing was commensurate with the work performed.

They took advantage of me when I diverted there for engine issues. Long story short they tried to bill 56 hours for a cylinder replacement and checking all the spark plugs. They did compromise and only billed us 46 hours. This should have been under 20 hours in total. This was on a SR22T. After being in there shop I really question their billings. Beware
