Flew in for the excellent fuel prices but after refueling my battery was dead, and apparently the regulator was bad. Few were around, but I walked around looking for help. I contacted an open hangar and Jan Buttermore (an A&P) stopped what he was doing and brought a portable battery charger and jumped my battery. The plane started allowing us to fly home where I could replace the battery and regulator. Thank you Mr. Buttermore, folks like you are what makes aviation special. Thanks for your assistance and hospitality. Flabob is a great airport with great people!

Very cool little airport. Still has that "Golden Era" feeling about it. Been here since the '20s. Good gas price, good cafe. Be careful of your proximity to KRAL's class D on departure from Rwy 24.

Great little airport for a test of your airspace knowledge and centerline landings. The cafe is well worth visiting. I didn't need fuel but noticed price was lower than my home field, KMYF. It definitely feels like you have stepped back in time walking from the EAA building to the cafe.

Great little airport, lots of history, good restaurant, and new low priced SS Fuel. Love this airport.

Tried to purchase 500 gallons of fuel and was refused! They only want their local planes to have low fuel prices. Understandable, but buying in bulk from customers allows more bulk purchases at these little airports to keep costs down for everyone. Flabob obviously isn't interested in general aviation: just Flabob aviation.

Flabob has a brand new self service fueling station for 100LL. It is 24 hours and has great prices. I paid $3.35 on3-22-06

Great, friendly, even helped me with an oil change right on the field in transient parking (funnel, bucket, used oil drum, etc.). Whoever 'Jungle Jim' is, he made me feel right at home. Was glad to touch down at EAA #1's field and my old hometown.

Flabob has a great flight school. I'm currently attending Gotta fly Aviation there at Flabob. they are very friendly and professional. The Chief Instructor (Mark Michaels)is an awesome teacher. And I highly suggest anyone interested in flying; this is the place to go.
