I was in the area for a few days for a conference and wanted to rent a plane to see the city from the air. This is a similar request to the one described below by Robert Greenlee. However, when I called Sunrise, they said that they could not help me.

I was in Irvine for a 3-day class and I wanted to see if I could rent a plane to go see the city from the air. I called Sunrise and the very nice person at the front desk setup a reservation for me in one of their DA-20 Eclipse and with one of their local CFI's Shigeri so I would not have to go through a checkout and she could be my tour guide. I met up with Shigeri and we went out to fly. Unfortunately the DA20 they put us in had the NAV lights out but we were able to wait just a bit for the other one to come back and we took it up. We had a beautiful night flight across the city and Shigeri was a great tour guide. Prices are a bit expensive but so is everything in California. Sunrise is on my list of places to return to if I find myself back there again.

While vacationing in Socal, I stopped by Sunrise to do a couple of demo flights. I flew the Super Decathlon, Pitts S2B and J-3 cub. The instructors I flew with, Ty and Chris had the skills, knowledge, and passion for flying that you don't see at many flight schools anymore. I highly recommend this place to anyone starting their flight training or wanting to do aerobatics.
