Be very careful flying into this airport. The relatively low gas prices can be appealing. However, the field is short and at a field elevation of 4600ft, the density altitude can easily exceed 8, 000 ft in the summer. Combine the DA, the uphill slope, the dirt strip and the cheap gas (weight) and you'll understand why the Sectional says "Hazardous".

An interesting airport that's being hemmed in on two sides by tract houses. During the Reno air races, you may need your own tie down ropes. Bring water, Plexiglas cleaner, and clean rags if you RON; my airplane was covered with a thick layer of dust after parking there for 3 days. I'll fondly remember this little airport.

Nice place and a good alternative to Reno, especially during the Races. Friendly service and excellent fuel prices make this a logical choice. Not sure but I believe a satellite office of Enterprise will deliver a car or pick you up from here. If the courtesy car is home then food is just a quick drive down the hill. I highly recommend Spanish Springs.
