Visited on 09/24/08. Walked to the Hays Street Cafe for an excellent meal (breakfast & lunch only). Did not purchase fuel; however, there is a newer looking 100LL self-service island. Totally agree with the post about the narrow runway and density altitude.

I've flown into this airport for decades because of its proximity to the Travertine Hot Springs, just two miles from the field. Travertine is so beautiful that a picture of it is on the cover of 4 of my 6 books about hot springs of the US west. The water is from heaven and keeps me coming back. The airport is narrow and short for being so high, so being able to stay on a center line is important, as is checking your density altitude. I love this place. These days, my 150 horsepower wood prop RV-6 at gross weight uses maybe 3000 feet of the 4200 available on a hot calm day. See you here, I hope.

Great place, fuel a buck higher then posted here. Walked to town for a burger, great place.

Bryant has several tie downs with chains. It looks like the fuel now has a card reader for 24 hour service, but I did not try it (didn't need fuel). Very short walk to town with several restaurants and motels. Had a burger at "The Barn" and it was excellent.

Nice airport. Great scenery. Walking distance to Bridgeport. However, fuel pump is locked and you need to make prior arrangements by phone to get fuel. Don't just turn up expecting to get fuel or you could end up short.
