Nice enough folks. Know that the fuel is flown in from Kenai and that's why it's so expensive. When you find out mogas is more than $6/gal you'll feel avgas is cheap. Be advised transient parking is way on the other side of the airport, the road back to the FBO side is a few miles long, and you're not allowed to walk on the airport to cross over. If you do you will be met by a local, state welcoming committee. The "natives" are fortunately friendly. Yes, you can taxi on the runways, but you can't walk. And there is no cell service. So get in your aircraft, call FSS on the radio, call the FBO on the radio, or plan to walk. Yes, it is an uncontrolled airport where you don't need to talk to anyone to taxi, takeoff, or land, but this *is* Alaska!
