I am based at Indiantown Airport and I am extremely pleased with the facilities and management. X58 is not a typical transient airport. Fuel is primarily for aircraft based at the airport. As fuel is not delivered on a regular basis there can be quite a jump in the price of fuel when the fuel truck makes a delivery. I might suggest if you plan to land at the airport to refuel or park for a while, call ahead. If you are unhappy go to Stuart and pay a $35 parking fee and $7.50 for 100LL.

Clyde (the owner) can be gruff, perhaps even rude, but there is another side to the story. While all the descriptions below can be accurate, I have found Clyde to be very protective towards his tenants, not wanting "transients" to wear out the runway for them. On top of this, he has been going thru a hard time with the County over his proposal to turn Indiantown into an airpark. All that to say, even though Clyde has his rough days, he is only one man, and Indiantown Airport shouldn't be written off as a no-go destination just because of that. There are still plenty of friendly folks willing to do some old-fashioned "hangar" flying at Indiantown!

Flew to Indiantown this morning. I saw a man watching as I taxied to a "parking space". Once I had pushed back into the grass and locked the plane, he motioned for us to come over towards the office. He was grumpy and informed me that I was in the wrong parking area!!!! It would have been nice if he had informed me before I secured the plane. I decided to leave rather than risk running into a ditch elsewhere on the field. No warm and fuzzies here--I won't be back.

Don't stop here. The ole man that owns and runs this place is a total pain in the butt!! No matter what you do he gives you a hard time. He jumps on you to pay a landing fee even if you buy fuel. If you land he wants to see your insurance.

Speaking to Indiantown International by phone this morning they indicated the fuel price is $5.50 and they don't want their prices published, saying some of the websites published the wrong information, and added "that field is in drought conditions and don't want people flying in unless they absolutely need to."

I landed Saturday morning to buy fuel only to find the price had increased from 3.25 to 5.50 overnight. The answer to the price was that airboats buy fuel there... I notice that Okeechobee hasn't raised their price $2.25 per gallon overnight..............I won't be back.
