The Lowcountry Regional Airport (LRA) is located in Walterboro, South Carolina. It is the largest regional aviation airport in the state and serves as a gateway to many locations throughout the region. The airport is five miles east of I-95 and is within an hour’s drive time to Charleston and Beaufort, South Carolina'; it’s approximately one to two hours of drive time to Savannah and Augusta, Georgia as well as to Columbia, South Carolina.
The Lowcountry Regional Airport is jointly owned and operated by the City of Walterboro and Colleton County.

LRA Runways:
LRA has three runways ranging in length from 5,500 feet to 6,002 feet.
Our primary runway (5/23) has recently been resurfaced and extended to 6,002 feet along with the construction of an adjoining parallel taxiway.
Eighty (80) additional acres have been secured at the end of this runway for future runway extension.
Five-year Capital Improvements Plan include runway enhancements and hangar development.
Grand Opening of New Terminal
The Lowcountry Regional Airport recently wrapped up construction to include new terminal facilities and improved runways. Amenities include:
