This FBO will directly contribute to the death of general aviation and should be avoided at all costs. Although the brand new facility is clean and modern, it's not nearly as nice as premium FBOs in large cities. Fairhope is a smaller market compared to most and the prices charged by this FBO for GA aircraft should result in a complete boycott of not only this facility but also any facility owned by the operator. I flew into Fairhope to do a flight review. I departed my home airport full of fuel, but I always try to give the smaller airports some business even though my mission and airplane didn't require that I purchase fuel. They have a very high standard rate for 100LL: $6.90/gal. They also added a $15 facility fee even though I bought fuel. Then they added a $4.09 credit card fee. The effective price of my 15.5 gal was $8.13/gal after their fees. The city of Fairhope should be concerned about this FBO. Only 1 FBO=monopoly=price gouging=less fuel sales=less fuel income to the city.
