Flew our classic "ole 55" Bo into GDJ yesterday and once again they didn't disappoint. The VN vet who assisted me fueling and I shared "war stories" from our two different combat zones and eras while his courtesy nearly overwhelmed! Speaking of courtesy, they have 5 Courtesy Cars at the ready, facilities spotless. Well above and beyond the call. We'll be baaaaack! :)

After landing at Granbury the line staff was very helpful in getting us fuel and a drink and turned around for our next destination. On run up I had a brake failure and needed help with a place in the shade. They found a vacant hangar that I could temporarily put my plane to work on it. The manager and his staff put me in touch with the mechanics on the field. The mechanics lent me some tools and the manager gave me some brake fluid to help bleed the line. They came by multiple times to check on us to make sure everything was good. They let us use a courtesy car to go to the store to get a few items we needed and then allowed us to use the courtesy car overnight. Definitely one of the nicest FBO's in the Country. I hope to make it back very soon.

Everyone at the Granbury airport was excellent. Two others and myself made Granbury one of our fuel stops on a long cross-country to Utah. Prior to departing, the brakes failed on one of our airplanes just. The airport manager and all the staff on the field helped us immensely in getting the proper materials, tools, and workspace to make the proper repairs. We were also given tie downs, a hangar, and crew car at no charge after we decided to stay overnight. I highly recommend Granbury as a stop for anyone flying through the area.

Made the 75-mile jaunt to GDJ today to visit our son and exercise the old F model Bo. Granbury never disappoints as from the second your prop stops spinning to the moment it spins again to depart you are inundated with hospitality. Four courtesy cars await your beckon call, all with the appearance of former police vehicles (which they are) if you enjoy following bad drivers to make them uncomfortable! Fuel isn't the cheapest in TX however comma, the airport facilities are impeccable and I was informed they have a regular pancake breakfast. Even better is they're building a new runway and terminal building and the old terminal will become a restaurant! Probably one of the friendliest and most easygoing municipal airports I've ever visited (and that's a lot of them). Highly recommended! Like Arnold said: I'll be back....:)

We flew into town to scout whether we want to move to Texas... We received the most hospitable reception I've ever had at any airport big or small. The gentleman that marshaled us in was polite and professional and his pup was out on the ramp and initially gave me concern... But it was very clear that this dog was a pro. It was completely not phased by the aircraft and stayed clear of our path. They had a couple of old police SUVs that were available as loaners (overnight too!) for no cost and the terminal was very nice and very modern for any size airport, but amazing for a place this small. I cannot recommend this airport highly enough, the fuel was a little more than some of the surrounding airports but it was worth it! I should add that the approach isn't typical, especially from the south. You fly over trees, power lines, and onto a narrow runway, but it was all part of the charm.
