14/32 and 5/23 runways are now in very good condition.

The beacon operates from dusk to dawn and there is a Segmented Circle & Wind Cone and wind cones at approach to runway 5 and approach to runway 23.

MALONE FY 2023-2025 NOTICE
DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE)


The Town of Malone proposes an overall goal of 8.3 percent for its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program for FAA funded projects for federal fiscal years 2023, 2024 and 2025. The proposed goal and its rationale are available for inspection during normal business hours at the Town of Malone Offices, 27 Airport Road, Malone, NY 12953. Comments on the goal will be accepted by the Town of Malone and the FAA Office of Civil Rights, FAA Southern Regional Office, 1701 Columbia Ave., College Park, GA 30337.

All  unauthorized persons, vehicles, snowmobiles and ATV of any kind are NOT allowed on the Airport property.  Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

News:

  • We have 100LL available 24/7 for use in aircraft only.

  • We have an AWOS on the field now.  Pilots can access it by using 4 microphone clicks on the Unicom frequency 122.8 or by phone at 518-651-2601 or via the Internet at
    www.digiwx-mal.com.

  • We also have a second weather station on the field managed by NYS Mesonet and the University at Albany.  Pilots and the general public can access it via the internet at www.nysmesonet.org/mesonow#?stid=MALO.

  • We have expanded the apron and tie down area that now includes 7 tie downs for general aviation.

  • We have added Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPIs) and Runway End Identifier Lights (REILs) to both runways 5+23 along with illuminated wind cones that are all pilot activated using 3, 5, or 7 mic clicks.

There are no landing fees nor tie down fees so stop by and enjoy some skiing, golfing, hiking, fishing or any of our many other tourist attractions

 


HISTORY:

Airport and Airport Administration Building were opened in 1949 through a joint effort by the Town of Malone and the Civil Aeronautics Board.

Town Supervisor at that time was Henry Maguire and board members were F. Wilcox, S. Child, M. Desnoyers and R. Maneely.
