Flew in yesterday to look at an airplane that was for sale. We were greeted with hot coffee and clean restrooms. Nice folks at the FBO. Didn't leave with an airplane but it was a nice experience anyway.

For your cross country travelers, don't get your hopes up about this airport if you desire a fancy FBO with coffee, free cookies, and red carpets. There is only one business on the field, and it's IAS. They are primarily a flight school/aircraft rental business, whose owners (Bill and Charlie) do everything from maintenance to scheduling. They leave instructing up to their 2-3 freelancing CFIs. Ian and Trudy (the only two CFIs I've met there) are very nice people, and I would fly with them any day. (Trudy is CFII, and Ian is CFI only; don't know about anyone else.) So, if you're looking for a quiet, south-Georgia airport with cheapest fuel, aircraft rental rates, and instructors, this is the place to come. Or you can pay more by going to Valdosta, Thomasville, Tifton, or Moultrie, and /maybe/ you'll get that red carpet you're looking for.

After the third time in the last year of trying to do business with this FBO, I have given up all hope of them wanting any new customers. I have even gone so far as calling the county Airport Authority and complained to get service. Of about 20+ phone calls to the FBO, Airport Authority, and instructors, I have had maybe 4 returned calls, all from the instructors to cancel scheduled rides. I even made 5 trips out there to arrange a check ride. All I want to do is get checked out for insurance so I can rent their @#&%!#$ Cessna 172, and can't even get that arranged. I had planned to fly for my business 3 different times with them in the last 6 months (12-15 flight hours) but can't get them in sync. Now I find out their IFR Rated 172 is not really IFR after all. I'll be taking my business out of town from now on and suggest that Y'All do to if you can!

This is by far the worst FBO experience I have ever had. I arrived at the airport on a very hot Friday afternoon at around 14:30 local. They are listed to be in operation till 17:00. The man who met me at the airplane was very rude and advised me that he was closing just as I arrived and would not even open the FBO so I could get out of the 98+ degree heat. My company operates an FBO ourselves, and I can't possibly understand this kind of service. I will never go back or recommend this FBO to anyone.

Bill/Charlie, thanks for the best service in south GA for the past 2 years. Sorry I wasn't able to say goodbye in person with my late in the day departure. It's been a pleasure! For those of you looking for a home for your airplane or looking for an honest hardworking A&P, look no farther and give these guys a call!

Spent 2 days at Cook County visiting my daughter. FBO folks were friendly and helpful. No charge for tie down fees. Came out and helped me tie down and brought out new ropes. Fuel was the cheapest around. Thanks for the great treatment.

If management is trying to cause this fine little airport to close, they are being successful. Great runway, lights, ramp, etc. but--there is no one home. No bathroom. No flight planning room. No phone. No lounge. ...and be sure to bring your own tie-down ropes--the few ropes there are being used by locals and most of them are too short, frayed, and rotten. Too bad.

I was in on November 10 2005, the FBO was not an ideal spot to lay-over for the day, no pilot lounge just a few seats outside in the 80° heat. There were places to eat but you had to walk or rent a car, there was no crew car available. At 4:00 PM the FBO shuts the doors they will give you a code for the gate, but you are on your own. I was there until 7:00 PM that evening. The managers were friendly enough, but where I fly out of you don't leave customers sitting on the ramp with no access to the restrooms and telephone. Be careful wildlife all over the airport and runways.
