Katama remains the best Fly in destination for the Northeast. Where else can you get a great lunch and go to the beach to swim in the Atlantic without a rental car or shuttle van. Great airport and great people. This is a no hassle deal. The food is great but he place is crowded all the time. Local hang out. Get there and get on the list as soon as you can. As for the price, considering what you spent to get there, the food is well worth the price. Enjoy and keep this place going forever so I can keep going there.

The Right Fork opened May 24 for the season. Good variety of lunch items; Chowder, Caesar and Greek salads, Paninis, Lobster roll, Fish sandwiches, club sandwiches, fried seafood, burgers. Very enjoyable lunch for 2 at $25. You're right at the threshold of runway 21 with a view of final approaches, and of course the biplanes used for rides.

Ok, you must be from New York or DC because around here (Mass) you can get that style breakfast in any number of places for less than half what was charged in this case. Now, if you want to consider it such that your supporting this historic airport - then so be it - however please keep in mind you are already paying landing and tiedown/parking fees that are equivalent to larger full service paved airfields... This is after all just a grass strip. So, $12.50 seems a bit much to me as well.

Re: the note below.... How is $12.50 a lot of money for two eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of toast, a piece of sausage and home fries? You can feed a whole family with that much food. 12 bucks to be able to land on a historic airfield, walk to the sand, and throw a few bucks to the field diner for their efforts, is well worth every penny in my book. Even the hefty landing fee is worth it.

This diner is in a nice setting, and Katama is one of my favorite airports, but considering the price of the food and the very slow service, it is just not as enjoyable as it once used to be. For $12.50 you get two eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of toast, a piece of sausage and home fries. And, as happened today, we had to wait 40 minutes for our breakfast. It would probably be all right if something could be done about the slow service, which has been a problem for more than a few years now.
