Nice little facility with low priced fuel we discovered after fog diverted us from our intended airport. Very friendly service. Because the crew car was out, we were loaned the mechanic's Ford to get lunch! Can't beat that.

Flew in yesterday. Even though it had snowed a couple of days before the runway was in great condition (better than some of the surrounding roads where a snow plow still working went passed us). The Papi was no operational when we landed. Ramp was a bit icy, but fine. Terminal is very nice and clean. Only thing I would have liked to seen were tie downs and a pre-heat service. It was pretty gusty there and with the icy ramp, I was really nervous about the plane moving on it's own despite set brakes and chalks. At 10 miles out, we asked for advisories and got a (great) complete update about traffic, weather and runway condition. This is a great destination airport. Wisp Resort is less than 2 miles away. Wisp gave us a free ride to/from the airport. Wisp skiing was good. Runs are short though, but hey, this is the mid-Atlantic. I'll definitely be back.

Friendly service in a nice facility with relatively cheap fuel. However, I would rate it assisted service rather than full service.

We enjoyed our short stop at Garrett. Cheap gas and a nice quick turn with a beautiful new runway. We will be back on our way back West.

10/16/2007: Flew to Garrett Co for work. Found that the runway is up sloping and now much longer at 5000'! The numbers are different & the PAPI was not operational yet. Great flight from Westminster. They also now have rental car service, but be sure you reserve it a couple of days ahead to make sure its there when you are. All in all a great new destination! S. Ehrlich PP SEL

New 5000' runway is nice. Terminal building has spacious lobby area, kitchen, pilot lounge with TV, and flight planning area with Internet connection. Will be back.

Garrett County Airport now has a runway that is 5000 feet with a parallel taxiway. They also have a new Terminal Build that is great. The airport and personnel are great.

I bought property at the lake and so I plan on flying in there much more often. Since they don't have a metar I sleuthed out an AWOS phone number for the airport. 301.746.8443. It’s nice to have before arriving and departing... Airport scheduled to be finished construction in July 2007 with 5000 foot of runway!
